Senior Cybersecurity Specialist
As a Senior Cybersecurity Specialist, you’ll make an impact by protecting our digital environment and enabling secure business operations. You’ll analyze and respond to critical security events using industry-leading tools, collaborate with multi-functional teams, and ensure rapid resolution of incidents. Your insights and actions will help reduce risk, improve cyber resilience, and contribute to an environment of continuous security improvement.You will be a valued member of our Infrastructure practice and work collaboratively with our Manager of Projects. **In this role, you will** + Monitor, analyze, and investigate security alerts from platforms such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud, CrowdStrike, Azure Firewall, FortiGate, and Proofpoint. + Perform triage, validation, and critical issues of security incidents based on severity and impact. + Own the lifecycle of assigned support cases, providing timely updates and maintaining compliance with SLAs. + Raise unresolved or multifaceted issues to L3 support or vendor teams with well-documented technical details. + Coordinate with collaborators to capture context, share updates, and ensure issues are fully resolved. + Monitor tool performance and health metrics for critical security systems, proactively identifying anomalies. + Complete routine operational tasks following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). + Suggest improvements to documentation and contribute to the internal knowledge base to support team learning and efficiency. **What** **you’ll** **need to succeed (required** **skills)** + A proven track record of 6 or more years in cybersecurity operations or security support. + Proficiency with tools such as Azure Firewall, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, FortiGate Firewalls, CrowdStrike, Azure DDoS Protection, and Proofpoint. + Outstanding analytical and resolution skills, with experience reviewing logs, events, and alerts across security platforms. + Ability to manage and prioritize multiple support cases while meeting SLA requirements. + Superb communication skills for interacting with both technical teams and business partners. + Comfort working independently as well as part of a collaborative, fast-paced team. **What** **will help you stand out (preferred** **skills)** + Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate, or GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) are an added bonus. + Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and ticket escalation workflows At Cognizant, we're eager to meet people who believe in our mission and can make an impact in various ways.
