Senior Cyber Security Engineer 

The DLP & Insider Response team at Bayer is seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineer specializing in Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Forensics, and Insider Risk technologies to join our security team. This critical role will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our complex network infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on cloud integration, security, and automation. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a globally distributed hybrid team that thrives in a fast-paced environment. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to ensure compliance with data protection regulations and to effectively mitigate risks associated with data loss and insider risks.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and manage our hybrid cloud and on-premises network infrastructureGrow our DLP & Forensic capabilities & onboard new technologiesLead the migration and integration of network servicesImplement and manage network security solutions, including firewalls & secure web gatewaysMonitor network performance and troubleshoot network issuesProactively identify and mitigate security vulnerabilitiesCollaborate with other teams to ensure network connectivity and performanceCreate and maintain network & change documentationStay current with the latest networking technologies, security threats, and industry trendsCollaborate with IT, security, and compliance teams to ensure alignment with regulatory requirementsProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related fieldA minimum of 7 years of experience in cyber security, with a specific focus on DLPStrong understanding of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and compliance frameworksProven experience with DLP technologies (e.g., Forcepoint, Netskope, Purview) and related toolsExceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detailStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teamsSolid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices, including good judgement & strong integrityExperience with network monitoring and troubleshooting toolsExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in relevant fieldRelevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, GCFA)Familiarity with cloud security solutions and practicesExperience working with highly sensitive & confidential topicsLanguage experience in the following: Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Mandarin
