Reporting to the Global Customs & International Trade Team leader, the **Senior Customs Specialist** is primarily responsible for providing Customs & International Trade expertise in EMEA studies. The main objective is to optimize management of processes in Cross Border & International Trade, focusing on the reliability of operations and costs/profits contribution within Customs and International Trade Regulatory boundaries. The position is available in the Netherlands and in Belgium; there are team members in both locations. The job duties can be performed working from one of our locations in Belgium or the Netherlands, in combination with home office. There will occasional travel (10%) to customs organizations in NL, BE, or FR. **What you’ll do:** + Provide services in Customs and International Trade integrated logistics studies. + Procure customs services ( in conjunction with the lead buyer of the service ) and control performance of customs clearance agents. + Implement & upgrade information systems to control the Customs and International Trade processes. + Understand and stay updated about local and international legislation and regulations related to international trade and Customs issues: anticipate trends and give directions to the SBU´s. + Look for opportunities for synergies and leverage among all strategic business units, in the search of customs duty reductions and lower customs clearance fees for their import & export needs. + Monitor internal controls. + Maintain a network with Customs authorities, other Governmental authorities and external customs service providers to ensure company's needs are met and / or to anticipate opportunities for optimization and tax/cost reductions. + Work with the business leaders and operational teams to identify opportunities for improvement, develop new alternatives, implement new initiatives. Continually looks for opportunities to leverage customs administration needs and solutions. **Your Qualifications** + Graduated as Customs declarant (NL) or equivalent training (Belgium) + Good communication skills, oral and written, in Dutch and English (business level fluency required). German and French skills are advantageous but not required + Computer skills: MS Office, Internet and e-mail. SAP. ERP experience will be an advantage but is not required + Team player + Flexible and pragmatic, business focused + Minimum of a few years of experience in positions directly related to Customs + Desired but not required: Background in forwarding, foreign trade or administration areas (Business Administration, Economics, Customs) _In our pursuit to be the greatest place to work, we know that a critical element to enhancing our employee experience is to assure we’re operating with a solid foundation of trust.
