Job Summary
The Senior Customs Brokerage Representative serves as a subject-matter expert in customs classification and regulatory compliance. This role is responsible for managing complex import/export cases, maintaining direct communication with clients, government agencies, and internal stakeholders. The representative operates with a high level of independence and also contributes to the development of junior team members through guidance and mentorship.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00AM - 15:30PM PST (flexibility required)
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct accurate product classification in accordance with import/export regulations, CBSA guidelines, Cross rulings, Free Trade Agreement determinations, and the General Rules of Interpretation (GROI).
Participate in Country of Origin validation processes and initiatives.
Maintain and manage classification and product databases using Microsoft Excel, Access, and proprietary UPS systems.
Engage with customers to provide regulatory guidance, clarify declaration requirements, and support duty/tax optimization.
Investigate and resolve customs declaration discrepancies in collaboration with clients and regulatory authorities.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in customs brokerage or international trade operations - required.
Valid Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation - preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field - preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) regulations and trade compliance procedures.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with database applications (e.g., Access) is an asset.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail, with well-developed research and documentation capabilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and external agencies.
Demonstrated ability to navigate complex regulatory requirements and stay current with evolving trade compliance standards.
