You will oversee demand planning activities for your assigned product families in your business unit. You will also lead the demand review process and driving interactions with the cross-functional teams.

How you will contribute

You will:

Lead the demand management agenda for the category, being the key interface between commercial (sales revenue planning) and supply (replenishment) to identify and evaluate the impact of potential availability issues/commercial changes including gap assessment and risk and opportunity discussionsPartner with modelling team for the generation of statistical forecastingManage, coach and develop a teamReview standard consumption versus forecast at the customer and total product levels, liaising with replenishment and sales revenue planning to manage potential availability issues and the impact of under consumptionDrive strong linkages with the commercial, customer collaboration, modelling, order fulfilment teams and supply planning including innovation and equityDrive continuous capability building in the demand planning team for planning improvement

More about this role

The Customer Demand Planner is a key contributor to the Demand Planning segment of the Integrated Business Planning process, by leading the short to mid-term forecast planning (0-15 months) in APOA with key inputs from CBT and external customers (where applicable).  This role will serve to facilitate multiple forums; generating insight and in turn will provide demand inputs accordingly.  This forecast output is utilized for Revenue reporting and Production Planning. Customer Demand Planning partners with the Category Demand Planning team and is a joint owner of gap reconciliation between the category and customer level forecast.

In addition to forecasting responsibilities, this person may be asked to lead root cause analysis, innovation management, or other ad hoc collaboration initiatives. The position will interface with Sales, Sales Strategy, Category Demand Planning, Supply Planning and others to communicate this forecast that drives our Operating Plan as well as supports key CS&L metrics and overall business results.  An understanding of Supply Chain principles is required.

What you need to know about this position:

This will be a customer facing role that will work closely with the Sales team and where relationship exist, with the customer demand counterparts, in customer forecast generation and alignment for all categories.  This role will be responsible for achieving customer forecast performance targets.

What extra ingredients you will bring:

Build an un-biased/un-constrained CBT recommended category/PPG/sku APO shipment forecast using cross-functional inputs, consumption/shipment analysis and overlays that will be used for Revenue reporting, Production Planning and deployment downstream.Review the disaggregated short-term demand plan in APO, which includes SKU/location mix and weekly pacing.Maintain key parameters in APO such as proper sku mix, innovations, phase out and discontinuationsEnsure that an APO accurate forecast is passed through the system with appropriate communication to Operations as needed as part of the S&OE process.   Facilitate communication of updates/exceptions, explain variances vs. prior year, annual contract and prior estimate, and report on forecast accuracy.Drive forecast alignment with external customers, leveraging data to influence forecasts.  Align demand profiles for new skus and promotions to ensure replenishment orders come in as expected.Perform root-cause analysis for continuous plan improvement for key service issues, forecast error and bias to be shared on monthly KPI review.Provide thought leadership and act as the subject matter expert in reporting insights to strengthen segment, brand and category efforts by customer.Clearly communicate all assumptions, drivers, risks and opportunities within and outside current forecast planPresent data to cross functional teams to shape new product launches, customer intelligence, and rationalization; influencing execution decisions.

Education / Certifications:

Bachelor’s Degree is required

Job specific requirements:

3+ years' related experience in Supply Chain or Sales Planning is required, and preferably within the CPG industry.PowerBI experience is an asset.MS Office tools efficiency - Windows environment: Intermediate Excel and Power pointStrong communication skills; ability to articulate issues both verbally and in writing, outlining possible solutions.Proficiency in data analytics and gathering fact-based insight based on trends.Experience leading Consensus forums where negotiation and influencing skills will be essential.
