WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Digital Farming provides actionable and field-specific advice to farmers, advisors and business partners worldwide for our xarvio products. For this we build digital solutions for crop management for the xarvio FieldManager, xarvio HealthyFields, ONE SmartSpray and Horta.

In your new role, you are responsible for developing, maintaining and deploying robust machine learning models that drive agronomic decisions, with a particular focus on international crop growth models.Furthermore, you explore and support new or improved model architectures and feature developments to improve ML capabilities and be responsible for implementation in our xarvio products.As you interact with other technical teams or connections within the xarvio products the infrastructure understanding & maintenance and implementation of endpoints is a must.As part of the Crop & Yield Modelling team you collaborate in addition with other experts, including digital agronomists, agronomic modelers and other machine learning engineers as well as product managers and countries to continuously improve the models according to market feedback.You ensure the functionality of the models and actively monitor and ensure model performance during season.Finally, you take care of our technology stack based on Python.WHAT YOU OFFER University degree in computer science or a related subject with multiple years of hands-on experience in machine learning or applied data science rolesproficiency in Python, writing clean and efficient codeexperience with popular ML libraries and frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch or XGBoostfamiliarity with CI/CD for ML workflows, Docker and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)expertise in agriculture is not essential, but openness to the subject and willingness to learn is a mustvery good communication skills in EnglishWHAT WE OFFER inspiring networks for the development and implementation of your ideas (e.g. Women in Business)learning opportunities for your professional and personal developmentlocation-specific preventive services (e.g. medical check-up or flu vaccination) to support your health30 days of vacation as well as the possibility of special leave and sabbatical modelmobile working in Germanyflexible working time models (e.g. part-time employment or job sharing)free Deutschlandticket and attractive leasing options for your personal job bikesubsidies for moving costs, parking fees and lunchHOW TO REACH US Lennart Boudgoust (Talent Acquisition), lennart.boudgoust@basf.com, Tel.:+49 30 2005-56521 will be happy to answer your questions for this position.
