Senior Credit Risk Specialist - Merchant Services

The Senior Credit Risk Specialist will focus on managing credit risk, risk management related projects, as well as processing enhancements related to First Line activities. This may include credit approval activities, portfolio management and transaction processing activities, risk oversight projects, procedures and controls. A successful candidate will have credit and data analysis skills, superb communication, project management experience and demonstrated success driving innovative solutions to analytic challenges. 


In this role, you will:

Review and analyze moderately complex processes and projects, business, operational, or technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors related to commercial credit and underwritingReceive direction from leadersExercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirementsCollaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goalsInteract with internal customersPrior underwriting experience in a commercial lending role, prior experience with credit policy and credit policy adherence, very familiar with procedures and control environment with ability to review and possibly draft such procedures.


Required Qualifications:

4+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

3+ years of commercial credit experience, in a secured lending environment, either asset based or cash flow lending in a First Line of Defense position.Project management skills attained through managing projects or leading projects to completion.Familiarity with credit policy, procedure and control environmentsWorking knowledge of Payment Network Rules (VISA, Mastercard, American Express)Excellent collaboration, communication and project management skillsAbility to execute strategy change(s) from design phase through implementationAbility to clearly and concisely communicate (both written and verbal) with business partners, peers and senior management and lead discussionsOutstanding problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise independent judgment to identify and resolve problemsAbility to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment; strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skillsAbility to work independently with minimal direction; ability to exercise independent judgment and apply prudent risk mitigation principlesIntermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skillsCommercial lending experience with subject matter expertise in fundamental cash flow analysis, understanding credit risks in changing economic environments both on a micro and macro levelA BS/BA degree or higher

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$100,000.00 - $179,000.00
