Senior Creative Copywriter

John Hancock has an exciting opportunity for a passionate, results-oriented, and creative storyteller to support its U.S. Marketing team. We are looking for a writer who would enjoy our dynamic and fast-paced environment, where we embrace a collaborative "get it done together" mindset. The successful candidate provides strategic and innovative creative for both print and digital. You are confident in your ideas and can passionately present them internally in rough form – as well as finely polished when presenting to our partners.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering content that engages customers/financial advisors, while helping to drive sales. This hands-on role will be responsible for the ideation, management, execution and evaluation of content across mediums and distribution channels. You’ll be working in close collaboration with our Visual Designers, Video Team and Content Managers on a variety of projects.

 

The Insurance Marketing Team, of which the Senior Copywriter is a key part, is responsible for the strategy and execution of product launches, events, campaigns, B2B relationships, sales enablement, Vitality member engagement, and producer and policyholder communications. This team is an integral part of our comprehensive marketing organization, which includes brand, human-centered design, digital, analytics, and integrated production. Together, these teams collaborate closely to craft our marketing narrative, deliver connected customer experiences, and demonstrate the business value of marketing.   


Individual Responsibilities Include:

Routinely conceptualize creative solutions that effectively communicate the strategic intent for each tactic within the assigned projectsWork closely with the editorial team and SME’s, distilling their content into easily digestible promotional copy Ensure consistency in brand voice across all communicationsWrite, proofread, and edit copy that reflects the conceptual vision and aligns to our brand voice Determine the style, tone, structure, and voice of copy across a variety of media (e.g., digital, mobile, print, web, video)Work collaboratively with Visual Designers to develop creative concepts and executions of assigned projectsPresent ideas in collaboration with Visual Designers to internal stakeholders and external clientsWork in an Agile manner with various teamsWork with digital marketing team to help drive SEO, email, and social strategies Create persona-based content for various stages of the funnel for both B2C and B2B communications and across a mix of mediums (print, digital, social, video)Leverage analytics and research insight and data to develop or bolster written workEdit and proofread copy for accuracy and brand tone

 

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree requiredMinimum of 6+ years of related writing experience (agency and/or in-house) across all media channels: print, social, digital, video, etc.Creative storyteller who has experience maintaining a valued brand voice across all communicationsDeep understanding of best practices for writing across channels (web, social, video, print)Excellent management, organizational and prioritization skills, including the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentResourceful researcher with strong information gathering, analytical and strategic planning skillsWilling to roll up his/her sleeves to make things happen and motivate teams.Ability to interact successfully with all levels of the organizationAbility to positively influence colleagues and the direction of workAbility to adapt and respond to changing priorities

Salary range is expected to be between

$90,225.00 USD - $162,405.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
