About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Counsel in the Markets Section of the Legal Department to support the loan and distressed trading desks and the credit portfolio trading businesses.
This position is responsible for providing legal services advice and counsel to the loan and distressed trading and portfolio hedging businesses of Wells Fargo Bank and its affiliates, including Wells Fargo Securities, LLC.
In this role, you will:
Provide legal advice and counsel to the loan sales and distressed trading business, including sales, trading, credit, compliance, and operations functionsReview and analyze moderately complex challenges for the loan and distressed trading business that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factorsManage moderately complex matters of legal significance to the loan and distressed trading business and develop and render opinions, consult with, and advise clients on legal and regulatory mattersDraft complex legal documents, review and negotiate documents prepared by outside counselIndependently resolve moderately complex legal issues and lead team to meet deliverablesIdentify and analyze complex legal issues, develop conclusions, and make recommendations for issue resolutionParticipate in the strategic direction and philosophy of support for the loan trading businessCoach, mentor and provide oversight with less experienced attorneys or staffCollaborate with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goalsWork directly with loan trading business clients and develop an in depth understanding of par loan and distressed trading business activities and productsPartner with business leaders and management of other corporate departments to develop and implement risk management programsProvide counsel and advice regarding related cleared derivates and bilateral hedging transactions subject to ISDA Master Agreements and ISDA Credit Derivatives Definitions
