Senior Cost Accounting Manager

We are looking for your talent, join our team and start your journey today! **Generic Job Description** The Director of Cost Accounting's primary focus is to lead a team that will implement/maintain systems and controls to monitor inventory transactions and movements throughout the E&C Plantas. This role is expected to enhance reporting and analysis capabilities, proactively develop or improve scalable processes for Cost Accounting, apply US GAAP, MX GAAP proactively implement SOX compliance controls and procedures, and prepare/review monthly reporting related to COGs, and Inventory. The Director must be a self-starter, detail oriented, organized and deadline driven. **Main Responsibilities:** + Map, Review and standardize current Std Costing Processes in ERP and outside. + Review, update, and design, as required, cost accounting policies, and procedures in adherence to Copeland’s Internal Control’s guidelines. + Standardize Cost Accounting Reports for all E&C Facilities and support the operation in new KPIs required. + Manage and control Month-end closing activities. + Assess performance against budget and forecast and provide recommendations to leadership. + Engage with internal and external auditors, ensuring compliance with documentation and deadlines. + Hire, Train, and mentor Cost Accounting Team. **Specific Responsibilities:** + Ensure monthly journal entries are completed for product liability, manufacturing and SG&A transfers, vendor scrap, and other material and/or cost related activity and review such entries for reasonability. + Review monthly Deferred Variation / CAR2 report and journal entry. + Review and approve actual monthly material variances including but not limited to purchase price variance, usage variance, and inventory adjustments. + Review and update where necessary monthly usage variance forecast; analyze changes compared to prior expected. + Review monthly purchase price variance forecast (prepared in Juarez); analyze changes compared to prior expected. + Provide backup / support for monthly inventory and standard cost of sales reconciliations. + Prepare monthly Deferred Variation forecast; analyze changes compared to prior expected. + Complete CAR2, Line 5 Reconciliation. + Prepare monthly Details of Variation for actual and forecast. + Prepare, post monthly Domestic Product Line Profitability reports to include restatement of standard cost to manufactured cost plus material overhead where applicable (Non Maquila Plants). + Prepare monthly POR Page 21 (Division). + Prepare and analyze quarterly Excess & Obsolete inventory to include obtaining feedback from Product Managers on reserve percentages and calculation of reserve. + Manage supplier consignment inventory in ERP including “receipt” of purchase order, relieving of consumption, and E&O reserve amount. + Review, distribute for approval, and communicate approved inventory dispositions. + Prepare quarterly Excess & Obsolete inventory model for Canada on an as needed basis. + Prepare Net Material Inflation report on an as needed basis. + Support annual physical inventory counts, reconciliation, and reporting. + Provide actual gross profit to Financial Planning & Analysis staff on a semi-annual basis. + Manage annual standard cost setting process to including but not limited to: updated material cost for all purchases parts, review of plant labor and burden rates at plants, development of Division material overhead rates, and all related ERP activity (i.e., uploading of data, verifying accuracy of data after upload). + Support day-to-day standard cost setting performed by Plants. + Support on special projects as needed. + Complete special projects as requested by management + Responsibility scope: E&C Plants in USA and Mexico **Authority:** To maintain labor and overhead rates in MRP systems. To correct labor and overhead rates in MRP systems. To report and distribute Costing related reports to the operation and company executives as required. To review and identify discrepancies on Material Cost, MOH, or even in Std Times where needed. **Basic Requirements:** + Public Accountant and/or Business Administration degree. Master’s degree a plus. + Minimum 10 plus years of proven experience in Cost Accounting and Inventory analysis in manufacturing a MUST. + Experience with MEX and US GAAP. + Experience in MRP/ERP Systems (Oracle a plus). + Proven experience in managing salary employees. + Strong knowledge of the standards of C-TPAT & OEA. + Ability to work under stress and pressure situations that require immediate action. + Proficient and a good level of knowledge in Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Outlook and Powerpoint, Poweer BI/Domo + Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills. + High degree of strategic and analytical capability, including the ability to analyze a large amount of data. + Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects as well as strong follow through skills. + Driver’s license and current visa to travel to the USA. + Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines. + Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish. **Desirable Requirements:** + Strong experience in Financial Analysis and General Accounting. + Strong experience in Inventory Analysis. + Quick and fast responser. + High reliability and proactivity. + Good decisión making skills. + Ability to Plan and Organice in the short and medium term.
