The Senior Corporate Counsel Role

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an attorney to join our Legal team as Senior Corporate Counsel. This person will support our corporate governance efforts, including securities law compliance, global legal entity maintenance, preparation of materials for the Board of Directors and its committees, M&A, equity plan administration, as well as advise the business and the HR team on all employment law and compliance issues in the Americas region to protect the company and support the business’ continued success. 

 

In this role, you will work especially closely with our corporate, tax, finance, HR, IT, procurement and other teams, while supporting other areas of the company.

 

The role is based in Qlik’s King of Prussia, PA, office. We currently have a hybrid in-office attendance policy.

 

Your Key Responsibilities are:

 

Provide legal support on corporate governance, securities regulations, legal entity maintenance, board reporting, equity plan administration and other corporate mattersSupport M&A and post-closing integration activitiesProvide expert guidance on employment law and compliance, including wage and hour, disability, discrimination, immigration, employee benefits and other local laws regulating employment in the Americas region (including the U.S. Canada, Mexico and Brazil), taking into account the needs and policies of a global software company headquartered in the U.S.Manage outside counsel, litigation and administrative claims, including budget, staffing, strategy and mitigation efforts. Provide regular reports regarding litigation and status of cases to legal managementDevelop and conduct training on relevant areas of law as required for company employees, in particular for company managers and Human Resources professionalsDraft and review and manage employment and tangential contracts, agreements, and policiesBuild an employment law knowledge base based on input received from outside counsel and from independent researchPerforms other duties as assigned

 

What You’ll Bring to Qlik:

 

International corporate governance and employment experience, with a specific focus on U.S. mattersBonus points if you have prior experience with private equity-backed companies and/or tech companies, board governance experience and/or merger and acquisitions experienceExcellent written and oral communications skillsGood judgment and ability to cross-think and determine who should be kept informedMust be able to think strategically about the company’s overall employment and litigation issues but also roll-up sleeves and act tacticallySelf-starter with good business acumen and a commercial mindResults oriented and always delivers on commitmentsAbility to manage projects, tasks and act as a team leadActs with honesty, fairness and integrity at all timesAbility to manage heavy workload in a high-pressure environmentTakes accountability for actionsDemonstrates flexibility and willingness to take on new challengesStrong collaboration and ability to develop credible relationships at all levels and strong sense of team orientation

 

 Qualifications:

 

Minimum of 7 years of combined relevant experience at a large law firm and in-house.Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law schoolAdmission to at least one U.S. state bar and in good standingExperience with supervising outside counsel

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $175,000 - $190,000 per year. Final compensation offered by Qlik will be based on factors such as the candidate’s location, job-related skills, education, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Qlik offers a comprehensive benefits package.
