This position provides collaborative leadership and support for all elements of facility operations as well as support for event operations. Work performed may include strategic forecasting, implementing risk management strategies, fiscal oversight, developing policies and procedures, and staff hiring, training, and development. The Senior Coordinator of Facilities and Operations also works with appropriate internal and external partners to ensure compliance and operational success. This position uses independent reasoning to establish the best course of action for complex assignments. This student-fee-funded unit features a student-led CUSG Recreation Board and a diverse team of professional experts to help meet evolving recreational needs and support student engagement and success. Recreation Services supervises the LEED Platinum main campus Student Rec Center, a building with over 300,000 square feet of recreation and fitness activity space, as well as a satellite recreation center at Williams Village, outdoor basketball courts, a challenge ropes course, and eight turf and grass fields around campus. Throughout these facilities, members of the CU community can engage with a variety of programs that include ice skating, indoor rock climbing, intramural and club sports, yoga, aquatics and so much more. **What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be** **Administrative** + Address and resolve issues independently using University and procedural knowledge. + Communicate resolutions clearly with appropriate parties. + Promote a positive and welcoming guest experience in collaboration with the Facilities and Guest Experience team. + Address patron rule violations, disciplinary issues and injury reports to ensure patron safety and compliance. + Ensure Connect 2 software is used to collect daily headcount data. + Ensure accident/incident reports, shift reports, task management, standard operating procedures, and risk management protocols are consistently adhered to. + Work collaboratively with University Marketing & Communications to create, manage, and implement any media and promotional needs. This will include social media advertisements, social media posts and reports, webpage edits, promotional fliers, etc. + Has the ability to understand and convey more sophisticated concepts and uses this capability to identify and address complex-level issues that require advanced solutions. **Facility Operations** + Actively supervise afternoon and evening operations of the 310,000 square ft Student Recreation Center with a focus on fostering a safe, welcoming and inclusive guest experience. + Assist with Williams Village Recreation Center oversight and operational needs. + Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Facilities and Risk Management to maintain patron safety and well-being through the enforcement of department's risk management policy for the Student Rec Center. + Conduct regular inspections of the facility and equipment to ensure safety, functionality and compliance with all relevant standards and regulations. + Assist with setups, teardowns and transitions for special events, rentals, and programs. + Maintains accurate building access for all needed personnel through the use of facility access software, key box access and issuance of building keys. + Responsible for reviewing recorded video surveillance footage for minor facility incidents and investigations. + Manage and track radio needs for all areas of the department. + Develop and deliver high-quality experiences for students and the greater University community. **Supervision** + Directly supervise approximately 60 student staff. Responsible for hiring, onboarding, and ensuring pay for all student Facility Supervisors, Leads, and Attendants, as well as offering continued oversight of employee status, and addressing any arising issues. + Establish shared expectations, language, and responsibilities across student staff through integrated training, collaborative shift structures, and intentional mentorship to reinforce their collective role in facility operation. + Create opportunities for student staff to lead operational improvements, foster mutual understanding, and develop cross-functional skills that enhance communication, teamwork, and alignment with the department's mission. + Provide leadership and support to student Facility Supervisors in enforcing department policies, addressing complex patron issues, complaints and injuries, and customer service standards. + Create daily workflow for facilities student staff (headcount collection, monitoring spaces for policy and procedure enforcement, and supporting building operations) using Connect2 software. + Engage Facility Leads and Facility Attendant staff in daily facility support by assigning responsibilities such as monitoring activity spaces, enforcing policies, and promptly communicating issues or concerns to Facility Supervisors. + Determine student employee work schedules and adjust in relation to budget and need. + Implement student employee evaluations along with reviewing ongoing work performance and providing feedback. + Develop and lead student staff meetings and training on policies and procedures, safety protocols and emergency response. + May serve as backup for the Assistant Director of Facilities and Risk Management in their absence. **Event Support** + Collaborate with the Rec Events team, providing support in planning and management of indoor and outdoor events to ensure smooth operations and positive experiences for students, the campus community and guests of the university. + May serve as backup for Events professional staff to include on-site support, attending events, meetings, etc. + Has solid understanding of event scheduling software (EMS) to support event scheduling needs when appropriate. **Fiscal Management** + Provide direct oversight of all financial and business transactions related to Facility Operations. + Manage student staff hourly budget and bi-weekly payroll. + Develop and maintain quarterly financial reports. + Develop and monitor the annual area budget. + Supervise procurement and inventory of supplies and equipment related to facility operations. + Track expenditures and recommend cost-saving measures. **Other Duties** + Serve on the Recreation Center Risk Management Committee. + Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, in-service education sessions, and other divisional or departmental meetings. + Participate in other departmental or divisional initiatives, programs, and committees as required. + Participate in the development of ideas and suggestions for Recreation Services and facility improvements. + Ensure that the Recreation Center's facilities, equipment, and programs are meeting or exceeding the standards of the department's quality by using and attending its offerings. + Assist with additional initiatives, assignments, and special projects as needed. + Attend state, regional, and national conferences for professional growth and development. + Engage in department coordinated trainings with a focus on leadership, access, and community building. + Assist with facility back-up with the Ice Rink and Pool areas, when needed (nights/weekends) work to obtain CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification within first 6 months. **What You Should Know** + Work hours are primarily Monday- Friday 12pm-8pm but are dependent upon the University calendar and special events, allowing flexible scheduling and available for needed operational and emergency situations.
