Principal responsibilities

Liaise with all stakeholders to prepare estimation and project plans, schedule and allocate tasks when necessaryLead work stream(s) independently in case of project need and perform planning and coordination work to ensure successful project delivery with good qualityDevelop technical specification documents using defined technical documentation templates and/or develop system accordingly based on the requirement when necessaryFollow HSBC IT engineering standards and propose improvement suggestion on project deliveriesApply specialist expertise in the development with the objective of improving quality and increasing cost-effectivenessInfluence the developers through technological excellenceResearch, define and enhance the development processes with guiding the team members on technology choices, coding standards, build and deployment procedures and software release managementDefine effective standards and ensure all are followed by all team membersProvide guidance to the development team to develop/integrate the applications and systems to deliver the agreed functional and non-functional requirementsWork closely with the manager, Business and other IT groups (including vendors) globally to deliver the best solutionMaintain excellent relationship with all stakeholdersLiaise with wider teams to explore the possibility of re-use of available tools/designs/application components as required

Strong leadership skill, able to take technical decision and leading the team to successFluent communication skills in English, both written and oralSolid experience in Global working environment Capable of take ownership of projectGood stakeholder management and influencing skillsAbility to work in fast-paced environment with proven ability to handle multiple work threads at one timeAbility to walk up the cloud stack (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) model with modern terminology and relevanceExcellent experience in Distributed/Cluster/micro service/Containerization/Core Java/No-SQL Database DevelopmentExcellent experience in BDD/TDD/Agile Scrum/CI/CD/DevlopsExperience in Kotlin would be an advantageExperience in FIX would be an advantageExperience in web UIs development, like HTML5/Angularjs would be an advantageGood financial knowledge and business sense would be an advantage
