Senior Components Engineer - Onsite Position
As a member of the components engineering team in Santa Clarita, CA, you will work with engineering and production teams responsible for supporting the design and sustainment aspects of circuit card assemblies. As a Components Engineer you will develop a practical understanding of the hardware design process and support requirements for building state-of-the-art high reliability electronics. You will be part of a close-knit Components Engineering team that is assuring the development of ruggedized electronics that must meet the demands of the Military & Aerospace market.
Location: Santa Clarita, CA-Onsite
Salary: $82,200.00 - $109,600.00 per year plus potential bonus

Your Challenge
Perform all responsibilities in accordance with the company’s processes.
Assist design engineers in material selection & approval process.
Assign in-house material numbers and standardized descriptions for all new materials within SAP MRP system.
Collect technical and reliability documentation from manufacturers in support of Engineering, Operations and Program Management.
Generate specifications for custom component parts.
Initiate/Authorize component substitutions made via Engineering Change Order (ECO), Material Substitution Request (MSR) and Approved Manufacturers Parts List (AMPL) updates.
Participate in design reviews for the purpose of material & component selection and standardization.
Provide technical support in response to component obsolescence & availability issues.
Coordinate failure analysis and corrective action activities on component quality issues.
Support Reliability Analyses (MIL-HDBK-217 MTBF & MIL-STD-1629 FMECA)
What You Bring:
Minimum 4 years industry experience
Strong understanding of electronic and/or electro-mechanical component technology.
Completion of post-secondary education in Electrical, Computer or Mechanical Engineering/Technology (or equivalent)
Experience working within ISO process environment is an asset
Experience with SAP or other Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems is an asset.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Knowledge of WEEE and RoHS legislation and requirements is an asset.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
