ChristianaCare is searching for a Senior Communications Manager to primarily support internal and stakeholder communications in support of ChristianaCare’s transition from Cerner to Epic as the platform that supports its electronic health record. This implementation is a multi-year project that impacts almost every area of the organization.
This individual will be a member of the Communications Team in the Department of External Affairs, but will spend significant time embedded with the Epic implementation team and workgroups to develop and execute communications strategies that engage clinical and non-clinical employees and support the overall success of the project.
In addition to Epic communications, this role will provide communications support for a wide variety of projects that External Affairs supports, including developing and executing communications plans, and writing and storytelling for internal and external audiences.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
Partner with Epic project team leadership to develop and create communications plans that engage caregivers and drive success of the project.
Develop written communications, announcements, press releases, social media posts, presentations, speeches, talking points, intranet and website copy and other materials to support a wide variety of communications needs.
Identify and create opportunities for internal awareness, storytelling and media/thought-leadership throughout the Epic team and other areas as assigned.
Education and experience requirements:
Experience with a previous Epic or similar implementation in a health care setting preferred.
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 10 years of public relations experience, with a demonstrated ability to write and successfully execute multi-faceted communications and PR plans. Candidates with degree in public relations or communications are preferred.
Experience in health care communications, including internal communications, physician communications, public relations and social media.
Experience in developing and completing strategic internal communications plans.
Experience in writing and editing news and features content, press releases, speeches, presentations, website and social media content.
Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
