We are seeking a Senior Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) Designer to join Ring's Industrial Design team and provide strategic leadership. This role will define and lead the development and implementation of CMF strategies across Ring's hardware product portfolio, driving innovation while ensuring aesthetic excellence, functionality, and reliability. The ideal candidate will combine extensive creative vision with deep technical expertise to shape and elevate Ring's design language through strategic material selection and innovative finish development.
Key job responsibilities
• Provide strategic leadership and ownership of end-to-end CMF development for Ring's hardware products, from concept to mass production
• Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive CMF strategies aligned with Ring's brand identity and long-term product vision
• Lead trend analysis and market research to inform strategic color and material decisions
• Create, present, and defend CMF proposals to senior stakeholders, including development teams and executives
• Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, suppliers, and engineers to ensure manufacturing feasibility
• Direct and validate prototype development and oversee color/finish matching processes
• Spearhead material innovation and sustainability initiatives
• Establish and maintain CMF specifications, guidelines, and best practices
• Lead international team collaborations and supplier relationships, including strategic global meetings
• Develop and curate an internal library of materials and finishes
• Drive advanced material research to support next-generation product development
