Summary
We are looking for a passionate senior cloud developer to join our architecture & platform team here at SAP Field Service Management. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud-native software solutions and be able to hit the ground running to take our product core services to the next level.
SAP Field Service Management (FSM) is a cloud-native software solution that helps customers schedule thousands of service jobs and technicians efficiently every day. As part of an international distributed team in SAP FSM, you will be building microservices and applications that will redefine tomorrow's field service.
The Role
As a member of the architecture & platform team, design scalable, secure, and reliable cloud architectures for the whole product, build Proofs of Concept (PoC) to validate them and support other development teams while implementing them. Develop and maintain microservices using Java, Spring framework, Git and Maven, running Kubernetes and Istio. Monitor and optimize application cloud performance, cost, and security. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development teams. Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends. Conduct regular assessments and audits of the cloud code to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in a timely manner.Key skills
Proven, rich experience in Java and Spring framework programming, detailed knowledge of JVM optimization, tuning, debugging, etc. Strong understanding of SOLID principles and ability to apply them to ensure scalable and maintainable code. Proficiency in writing clean, readable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards. Experience with designing RESTful APIs. Experience with event-driven architecture using e.g. Kafka. Solid experience with both relational and non-relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch / OpenSearch). In-depth knowledge of software design patterns and their application in real-world scenarios. Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows. Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including services like EC2, S3, Lambda, etc. Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes extended with Istio. Hands-on experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI. Solid know-how of DevOps-processes and working in a cloud native environment (Unix/Linux) with monitoring (Grafana, Prometheus), tooling as well as application runtime environments with Docker and Kubernetes. Knowledge of security best practices in software development, including secure coding, authentication, and authorization mechanisms. Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and creatively. Knowledge of software testing practices & frameworks. Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor junior developers and lead technical discussions. Good communication skills in English (written and spoken) for effective teamwork.
Qualifications
Minimum of 7 years of experience in cloud architecture or a similar role. Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven track record of successfully delivering cloud-based solutions#FSM_Poland
