Senior Cloud Developer

Fortinet is seeking a skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to join our FIO development team in Burnaby, BC. The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, testing, tracing and troubleshooting PaaS services and OpenStack infrastructure components, ensuring quality assurance, and supporting the ongoing development of our OpenStack-based private cloud platform. This position is ideal for Cloud engineer with working knowledge and experience of Kubernetes, Postgres, Redis, Kafka, or Prometheus.

Job Responsibilities

Develop, test, and troubleshoot PaaS services running on top of OpenStack private cloud platforms. Optimize automation and performance of infrastructure components. Identify and resolve technical issues independently and collaboratively. Provide greater technical impact and share expertise across the FIO team. Work closely with developers to identify and fix defects, ensuring high-quality software and solution. Automate test cases and system monitoring through scripting.

Job Requirements

7+ years of experience in software development within a Linux environment. Proven records of designing, prototyping, implementing major features in large-scale Cloud services. Experience with Kubernetes cluster management, and development in Cloud Native environment. Deep understanding of Containerization Technologies (Docker, podman, CRIO) Good understanding of Linux System, OpenStack Platform. Proficiency in Go or C/C++ with strong Linux System knowledge. Good Bash scripting skills. Proven ability to troubleshoot software logically and analytically, and compose debugging reports. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to haves:

Knowledge or experience of eBPF and developing. Broder knowledge of commonly adopted Database, MessageQueue, Monitor stacks.

The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $117,500 - $143,700 annually.  Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level.  Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
