As a Professional Services Cloud Consultant, you will fuel solutions to ensure enterprise deployments make the deepest impact possible across an organization. You'll solve organizations’ most complicated problems, including the ones they didn't know existed. As a successful Splunk Consultant you will be adept at mastering new technologies and come from a variety of business, analytic and technology backgrounds. Are you up for the challenge? **Responsibilities** + You have operational experience at scale. You have had hands-on roles that deal with operating systems (particularly Linux), supervising systems (including Splunk), Cloud technologies, and networking. Your previous job titles might be something close to systems admin, network engineer, or DevOps engineer. + Our customers are passionate about Splunk, and we want the same from our engineers. You should enjoy actively being responsible for your work and be passionate about your projects. + You love large sophisticated systems. Experience in working on distributed systems or a passion for finding edge cases that appear at scale. You're interested in how to bring something from a small one off task to how to implement it across several thousand machines at once. + Growth and mentorship. We also believe mentors help both sides of the equation. + A chance to share standard methodologies and create innovative solutions to push user adoption and improve the value of Splunk. + Collaborate with individuals across the company from Product Management, Product Marketing, Professional Services, Sales, Sales Engineering, Technical Enablement, Education, Customer Success Management, and Support. + Be comfortable working with customers to help them define their future architectural roadmap as a trusted advisor. + Be successful working with your peers, your teammates, individual developers and SRE’s. + Collaborate across the entire Splunk organization to bring access to product and technical teams, to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovation from customer feedback. + Enable customers to solve the next wave of questions on their own + Good corporate citizen – two-way flow of relevant and timely information; work as a team for the most efficient use and deployment of resources + Embrace continuous learning, maintain up-to-date knowledge of Splunk products, functional knowledge, and industry standard methodologies + Provide timely and accurate status updates to all customer, partner and Splunk stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle **Requirements** + Experience with Splunk Cloud + 2+ years experience with Splunk administration, architecture design + Significant experience in technical consulting or sales engineering + Experience in migrating On-prem customers to the cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) + Delivering sophisticated customer projects with multi-functional teams using traditional and agile project delivery methodologies + Experience as a *nix system administrator supporting enterprise computing platforms and systems + Experience supporting customer facing multi-tenant infrastructure (SaaS) or similar cloud related services + Experience with Python, Golang, Shell, and open source based systems + Solid understanding of virtualization technologies + Strong open systems application and infrastructure knowledge + Clear understanding of network and system management solutions + Organized with a healthy sense of urgency, able to set; communicate; and meet deadlines with competing priorities + Ability to quickly explore, examine and understand sophisticated problems and how it relates to the customer’s business + Solid understanding or recent experience with scripting languages (bash), application development (java, python, .NET), databases and analytical tools + Experience with automation/orchestration tools, at least two of the following: Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform + Ability to stop, collaborate and listen with technical and non-technical consumers from application developers to executive level partners + Self-motivated and self-educating, always interested in keeping up with technology and improving oneself + Certifications or Accreditations + Splunk Cloud Fundamentals + Splunk Cloud Migration + Splunk Certified Consultant **Splunk is an Equal Opportunity Employer** At Splunk, we believe creating a culture of belonging isn’t just the right thing to do; it’s also the smart thing. Note: **Base Pay Range - $125,700 - $170,000** When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long -term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter. Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows: .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota; 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%; 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
