We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned Cloud Architect to join our team in Sydney.
What you will be doing:
As an IT Architect you will be responsible for guiding the Application Development team through the development process. You will ensure development is being done right the first time. You will also:
Make design decisions and technology recommendations to satisfy business requirements based on the product roadmap
Establish a coherent architecture vision of how FIS enterprise software and infrastructure technology will be applied to best address current and expected future application needs
Continuously communicate the vision in an audience-appropriate manner, both internally and externally, from developers and designers to business owners and customers
Analyse highly complex project requirements to determine impact and/or change to the system architecture.
Evaluate the need for architecture changes and conducts appropriate cost/benefit analyses
Ensure lead developers and designers are familiar with application, software and infrastructure technology assets, standards, and requirements along with software development best practices
Assist in the identification of patterns, techniques, tools,and processes that contribute to effective project execution and business-unit profitability.
Develop and recommend new processes, tools and technology that improves the system and/or its architecture.
Develop, document and execute through technical test plans and protocols to ensure architecture changes are working properly. Provides risk identification.
What you will need:
Solid experience in a similar role having led the technology direction for multiple projects and led or presented architecture concepts outside of the realm of the immediate workgroup
Strong track record of implementing AWS and Azure services in a variety of distributed computing environments
Knowledge of the primary AWS services (EC2, ELB, RDS, Aurora, MSK, ESK)
Knowledge of the primary Azure services (VM, AKS, Flexible Server, Event Hubs)
Proven experience with large scale migration projects data centre to cloud
Experience with infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting (e.g. Shell, Python, Ruby, Powershell)
Sound practical experience with Linux and Windows based systems administration in a Cloud or Virtualised environment
Proven ability to think strategically and strong relationship management abilities
Experience in full life cycle development with an emphasis on incremental, iterative development and deployment
Excellent analytical, decision making, problem solving and communication skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Scirnce, Information Systems or equivalent work experience
Added Bonus if you Have:
Knowledge of RESTful Services, Web Services, SOAP, JMS, MQ would be an asset
Knowledge of Akka (including persistence and clusters), Docker, CQRS, Event sourcing
Knowledge/expertise in payments and financial services domain
