How you will create an impact
+ To handle General liability and Employer liability claims adjudication, reserving and settlement of claims within given authority level.
+ Interpretation of policy wording for both SME and Commercial portfolios to determine coverage. Understanding of common law claims, permanent incapacity derivation, computation of medical expenses and leave wages and eventually driving resolution of claims in an effective and timely manner, within the required turnaround time, according to AIG internal claims SOP.
+ To ensure fair and impartial adjudication of regulatory coverage and communicating developments and outcomes to all concerned parties. Providing a high standard of customer service and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
Functional Responsibilities:
+ Managing key claims enquiry; general liability coverage along with legislative coverage determination, determination of special and general damages award in accordance to Singapore law.
+ Broader internal / external stakeholder communication where required.
+ Strive for continuous improvement on claim file handling with feedback and support through the Quality Assurance Review processes.
+ Contribute to maintenance of best practice procedures for (GL/EL) intermediate to high value Complex claims, consistent with global best practice.
+ Demonstrate a high standard of technical claims competence. Demonstrate a strong standard of competence in handling intermediate to advanced complex claims in Line of Business.
+ Adhoc administrative duties.
+ Contribute to the team’s success via continuous improvement on claim file handling with feedback and support.
+ Align mindset with the team members to maintain adherence of best practice protocols which is consistent with global best practice.
Accountabilities:
+ Timely, accurate and customer focused claim resolution, minimizing indemnity exposure and mitigating vendor and legal expense.
+ Effective communication of key Complex claims and (GL/EL) portfolio messages to internal stakeholders.
+ Financial control through consistent reserve and other financial transaction discipline.
+ Accurate and consistent policy interpretation.
What you’ll need to succeed
+ Basic insurance certifications i.e. BCP and Comm GI.
+ Proven experience in assessing complex GL/EL claims.
+ Timely, accurate and customer focused claim resolution, minimizing indemnity exposure and mitigating vendor and legal expense.
+ Effective communication of key Complex claims and portfolio messages to internal stakeholders.
+ Financial control through consistent reserve and other financial transaction discipline.
+ Accurate and consistent policy interpretation.
+ Preferable with administrative experiences.
+ Good communication skills, both written & verbal.
+ Time management – ability to manage & prioritize workload and diary management.
+ Ability to contribute effectively within a team environment.
+ Ability to work with claims and various stakeholders i.e. underwriters, actuaries to effectively drive claims strategy.
+ Sound knowledge in technical claims topics.
+ Policy language skills (both regulatory and claims assessment) enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation.
+ Basic knowledge of legal / regulatory and litigation / procedural requirements for the line of business.
+ Experience in effectively following up on recommendations from technical claims audits and continuous claim handling improvement.
+ Able to work under pressure and meet tight datelines.
