Senior Claims Consultant

Echelon Claims Services, a division of Echelon Australia Pty Ltd, offers a premier claims management service, specializing in insurance operations and self-insurance programs.  A full-time position currently exists for a Senior Claims Consultant managing liability claims within our Melbourne team.  Your portfolio of clients will predominantly be Victorian Councils.
 

In this position you will complete a variety of duties, including liaising with claimants, clients, solicitors, repairers, and assessors, whilst conducting general claims duties.  The successful applicant will be well organized, highly motivated and have a positive attitude.  This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded, collaborative, friendly and successful team.



We will count on you to:
 

Liaise with the Manager to provide any relevant information to ensure the successful and efficient ongoing operation of the claim’s unit.Accept full responsibility for the day-to-day management and updating of a claims portfolio and ensure an accurate record of the claims status is maintained.Liaise with clients and claimants to ensure appropriate, timely and cost-effective resolution of liability claims.Make recommendations to clients and negotiate settlement of claims after obtaining the authority of the relevant client.Ensure that any file that exceeds the client’s insurance excess is referred to the relevant insurer and update claims database appropriatelyEnsure regular communication with clients regarding progress of claims and to ascertain the client’s satisfaction with the way their claims are being managed.Participate in regular meetings of claims unit staff to assist in identifying possible streamlining/improvements to existing claims procedures.Assist in delivering approved training programmes to client staff as requested.

Prior experience managing claimsPublic liability claims experience would be highly regardedStrong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skillsDemonstrated initiative and understanding when managing confidential information.
