A Senior Lab Chemist typically oversees and performs complex chemical testing, ensures quality control and compliance, and provides technical leadership and guidance to junior staff, while also designing and executing experiments, analysing data, and interpreting results.Key Responsibilities:
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervises and mentor chemists and laboratory staff.
Oversees scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow.
Provides performance evaluations and feedback for the testing activities.
Be responsible for future MS ISO/IEC 17025 scope extensions of chemical testing.
Operational Knowledge on LC-MS/MS, ICP-MS, AAS, and GC-MS/MS instruments.
Develop and validate analytical methods for various matrices, including water samples.
Perform sample preparation, including extraction, cleanup, and derivatization techniques.
New Method development for various customer, research projects and regulatory requirements.
Analyse samples using established and newly developed analytical procedures.
Interpret and report analytical data with accuracy and precision.
Troubleshoot instrument issues and implement preventative maintenance measures.
Required Skills, Experience:
Excellent theoretical and practical chemical understanding and testing skills.
• Familiarity with laboratory environment, procedures, and practices.

Regulatory Compliance:
Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant regulatory requirements and standards.
Knowledge on NSF, APHA, BIS & other international standards for water testing.
Ensure that all analytical procedures and reporting adhere to regulatory guidelines.
Participate in audits and inspections to demonstrate compliance.
Data Management and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and complete laboratory records and documentation.
Prepare and present analytical reports in a clear and concise manner.
Contribute to the development and improvement of laboratory SOPs.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate effectively with other scientists and technicians.
Provide technical support and guidance to other team members.
Communicate analytical findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Coordinate with vendors for procurement & maintenance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master’s degree in chemistry or a related field.
Need to have 10 years of experience in NABL laboratory.
Proven experience in analytical chemistry, with a strong background in LC-MS/MS, ICP-MS, AAS, and GC-MS/MS techniques.
Experience in water sample analysis and regulatory compliance is highly desirable.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with relevant software and instrumentation.
