Reporting to the Go-To-Market Innovation Director, the Sr. Category Sales Manager sets the go-to-market strategy for their assigned brands. They provide strategic Channel marketing and consumer management expertise to brand and customer teams.  This is an exciting role that supports not only the Canadian business, but also the USA business to support innovation launches.

In this role, you will:

Partners with the Brand Team to develop the Sales Strategy deliveries of the 3 Year Strategic Plan

Leads annual Sales Strategy plan development and implementation to align Brand and Sales Strategies with customer business models and department strategies (DPSM KPI’s – Distribution, Pricing, Shelving and Merchandising).

Owns delivery of assigned Net Sales, Trade and Margin objectives by developing and executing customer/channel strategies and plans.

Develops strong sustainable relationships throughout the organization and provides Customer and Brand development leadership and solutions.   

Partners with key Customers in JBP development and supports customer negotiation.

Leads Trade Strategy development and customer trade execution and best practices.  Executes trade authorization which aligns with brand strategy and delivery of in-market budgeted trade rates.

Interprets information and data to develop insights, identify risks and create opportunities/strategies associated with sales fundamentals (Distribution, Pricing, Shelving and Merchandising).

Develops, coordinates and communicates volume Gap closure plans to Brand teams and Customer teams.

Conducts formal quarterly and annual Score carding. Builds recommendations to execute mid-course corrective actions; including new product launches, corporation promotions, and other strategic initiatives

Serves as main contact for customer teams for all Consumer and Brand Strategy activities such as DPSM KPI’s and Innovation Launch and Execution

Supports implementation of Innovation Summits and long-term business building sessions with customer.

Provides best practice leadership for continuous improvement to optimize execution for customer & brand teams.

Peer leader & coach to inspire & motivate other sales & sales strategy team members

Provides overall expertise & point of view on brand health for assigned brand (base/incremental, market share, DPSM analysis, etc.)

Manage 3rd party broker relationships to drive and optimize results at launch and beyond

Creates & delivers persuasive communications, driven by data & insights for assigned brand

Education required/ preferred:

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree required

Experience:

6+ years’ experience in progressive CPG account management & analytical roles. Managing development of sustainable customer relationships. Strong persuasive, sales and analytical skills. Cross-functional knowledge of marketplace analytics, logistics and customer business planning

Preferred Experience/Qualifications:

Brand, Category and Sales Strategy management experience (including trade & channel management). Knowledge of marketing concepts. Strong knowledge and demonstrated use of data access tools and intermediate to advanced PC based applications (Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Skills/Competencies:

Results, strategy and vision orientation, leadership through influencing, strong oral and written communication, financial and budget management, ethical judgment and decision making, change management, analytical, project and risk management and building relationships

Other Skills:

Prioritization and time management, resources and team work direction, active listening, adaptability, interpersonal and social perspectives

Salary Range: 129,440 – 159,920 CAD

At Kimberly-Clark, pay is just one aspect of our total rewards package, which also includes a variety of benefits and opportunities to achieve, thrive and grow. Along with base pay, this position offers eligibility for a target bonus and a comprehensive benefits suite, including our Profit Sharing plan. The anticipated base pay range for this role is provided above for a fully qualified hire. Actual pay will depend on several factors, such as location, role, skills, performance, and experience. Please note that the stated pay range applies to Canada locations only.
