Description:
The Senior Category Manager, Insulation is responsible for more than $250 million category spend within Amrize Building Envelope. This position drives procurement sourcing initiatives for the largest spend category within Amrize’s Building Envelope division (Insulation: PIR and Spray Foam) and will have high visibility and accountability to Senior Management across Elevate, Enverge/GACO, and OX Engineered businesses. This individual is directly responsible for delivering on agreed-to-objectives and achieving increasing cost competitiveness.
This individual is accountable for category performance and responsible for continuity of category supply, including actively monitoring and mitigating risk with the supply base. The position will be measured based the primary KPIs: financial performance, raw material availability and quality.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
• Take ownership for delivering targeted bottom line results within the category.
• Develop, manage and implement proactive sourcing strategies for all materials.
• Work closely with other regions to understand and develop the supply base.
• Document supply/demand/capacity balances, trends and supplier interruptions.
• Monitor key cost drivers for materials managed and provide monthly updates on key materials managed.
• Identify, develop, and lead qualification of new suppliers to drive savings and reduce supply risk.
• Actively seek to reduce risk by minimizing single/sole source materials.
• Drive category performance to deliver lowest total cost of material.
• Conduct negotiations, issue RFQ’s and manages all aspects of supplier relationships.
• Responsible for the selection, development, and overall management of supplier’s performance.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers to meet sourcing strategies and key objectives.
• Negotiate and implement contracts with suppliers, working closely with the legal team.
• Maintain open, direct and professional communications with all departments within the organization.
• Work closely with manufacturing sites to quickly address supply issues.
• Proactively work with suppliers to improve their performance.
• Arrange and conduct supplier audits in coordination with the QA manager(s) and Amrize standards.
• Work in a professional and ethical manner with suppliers and others at Amrize.
• Provide timely updates to management and internal customers on key raw material issues.
• Work with R&D and marketing within their Product areas.
• Responsible for formal presentation to the plants on a regular basis on cost reduction activities, process improvements and their implementation along with their cost benefits
• Maintain and enter information as needed in Procurement Management Systems
• Support new vendor and material requests in SAP for new products, product transfers, and acquisitions
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Science, or Engineering.
2. Minimum 10 years of experience in Procurement/ Purchasing
3. 10+ years of Chemicals Purchasing experience with mastery level understanding of commodities, polyurethane chemical industry and associated feedstocks
4. Building Materials, Chemical or Automotive Industry experience strongly preferred
5. MBA preferred
6. Possesses very good knowledge of SAP
