To supplement and further strengthen our capabilities we are looking for a Senior Risk Engineer with specific expertise in chemical and oil&gas manufacturing as well as in industrial processes; including safety and quality management.
Job description
Provide support to our underwriters: The focus is to support underwriters by providing account risk analysis on industrial production processes; we are particularly interested in the following industries: chemical and oil&gas, food industries, automotive suppliers and OEM, as well as general manufacturing (including consumer goods). Provide support to our Insured’s: Design of custom-made programs to evaluate and manage specific risk management issues. Assist our internal risk underwriting departments and to provide risk engineering services to our clients.Provide support to portfolio managers: Analyses and reviews of portfolios to tackle elements that complement actuaries analyses, accessing external resources, review of technology trends, research on emerging hazards. Perform risk monitoring, identifying industry-specific threats and - trends. Project oriented work to develop and update risk assessment methodologies, checklists and tools.Provide support to marketing:Supporting business goals working with marketing department to develop specific programs for internal and external communication projects.
Position responsibilities/tasks
Perform risk management consultation, which includes on-site assessments or desk job reviews focusing on exposure identification, risk assessment and mitigation strategies.Produce accurate internal and marketing reports, material for education purposes and technical background information. Support underwriting at client meetings by demonstrating our dedicated risk consultancy / risk engineering approach.Maintain and extend technical and professional expertise in order to provide current, innovative and costumer focused services.Maintain collaborative, professional, consultative client-centric relationships; actively facilitate exchange and bring to bear expertise among peers within the organization.Risk Engineering Team
You will join Risk Engineering Services (RES), an integrated service organization within Chubb. Our team of more than 400 engineers and industry specialists is located all around the world, dedicated to support our internal underwriting functions with profound expertise and risk knowledge.
The position is open to engineer’s who resident either in Sweden, Denmark or The Benelux to support underwriting teams across Continental Europe.
About You
Engineering background: Masters Degree level education in a science or technology based subject 5+ years of professional experience in eithera senior technical or engineering role preferably with exposure to supply chain, quality assurance, contractual negotiation with internal and external stakeholders within a relevant industry such as agriculture, automotive, aviation, chemical, defense, transport, construction and civils, food, general manufacturing, mining, marine etc OR
a senior role in a regulatory or enforcement agency whereby investigation and enquiry across a wide range of industries forms a core part of the role.
Preferably a chartered member of appropriate professional body.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction and highly self-motivated in a multi-cultural, remote team environment. Experience to work in an international business environment and interacting with brokers and our clients. Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal relations skills.Proficient in problem solving and process management capabilities; willingness to constantly broaden and enhance own scope of expertise according to business needs. Interdisciplinary orientation is a plus.Knowledge and interest in recent technological developments in manufacturing and processing (e.g. Industry 4.0…). Knowledge of digital office tools and basic knowledge in data analytics.Available for travelling, mainly within Europe, for site visits or meetings. Excellent verbal and written English communications skills in addition to another EU language are a plus.
