Senior Career Development Specialist

This position provides guidance and programming implementation for career development initiatives within the Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business and the College of Music and Performing Arts.

Provides career coaching and advising to assist students and alumni in developing and implementing career decisions and plans. Utilizes online career management tools and resources. Provides resume writing, interviewing and job search assistance. Reviews and critiques students and graduates’ resumes and cover letters.Contributes to the career development programming strategy for students pursuing an Entertainment focused degree. In partnership with Associate Director, evaluates career development resources, workshops, classroom presentations, recruiting events and other programming, to ensure that all offerings remain effective, scalable and relevant. Provides recommendations for changes. Works to embed occupational well-being and career readiness across the curriculum to reach all Curb and CMPA students.Attends faculty meetings and represents Belmont in university wide initiatives representing the career development team.Participates in strategic planning and opportunities for professional development and contributes input to develop and achieve strategic objectives.Actively conducts employer outreach on a weekly basis. Builds and maintains a network of entertainment industry professionals. Conducts research and establishes employer relationships in target markets. Represents Belmont University in external affairs and events involving entertainment and music business employers.Assists with social media strategy, messaging and the creation of marketing tools for all entertainment-focused Career & Professional Development events.Facilitates connections between students, alumni and employers. Collaborates with academic administrators, faculty, and other relevant university colleagues to enhance student success.Assists with collection of University career outcome data including, but not limited to, the annual First Destination Report.Assists with Towering Traditions, Curb College, CMPA and Career & Professional Development events as needed.The above statements describe the job’s essential responsibilities and requirements.
