We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Calibration Technician to join our Dubai-based team. This role is crucial for overseeing and executing calibrations of OTT HydroMet Pyranometers and related devices, while also taking a leadership role in driving operational excellence, supporting regional growth, and optimizing calibration lab performance.
The Senior Calibration Technician will play a pivotal role in reporting key performance metrics such as Revenue and On-Time Delivery (OTD), applying lean methodologies to streamline operations, offering local technical support, and expanding calibration volumes across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform and oversee calibrations of OTT HydroMet Pyranometers and similar solar radiation instruments in accordance with industry standards.Ensure timely, high-quality service aligned with On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets and calibration accuracy expectations.Support administrative processes including calibration documentation, customer communication, and timely invoicing.Manage logistics around the movement of instruments into and out of the calibration lab.Track, analyze, and report Revenue and OTD metrics to local and regional management on a regular basis.Identify, lead, and implement process improvements using Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.Provide local technical support to customers and internal stakeholders, including troubleshooting and technical guidance.Actively engage in expanding calibration volume by identifying regional opportunities, supporting business development efforts, and ensuring service readiness.Mentor junior technicians and support skill development within the local team.Maintain calibration equipment and ensure compliance with quality standards and audit requirements.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related technical field (required)Minimum 3–5 years of experience in calibration, preferably in the solar energy industryExperience with Kipp & Zonen or similar solar radiation instruments (preferred)Proven experience in reporting operational metrics and leading process improvementsFamiliarity with Lean/Six Sigma tools and methodology (certification is a plus)Skills Required:
Excellent spoken and written EnglishStrong analytical, organizational, and leadership skillsProficiency in MS Office (especially Excel for reporting)Customer-oriented mindset with strong communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities with attention to detailSelf-driven and proactive with a passion for continuous improvement
