Summary – basic function of the role We are looking for a Senior Buyer Planner to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in Madrid. This role is critical in ensuring end-to-end supply planning and procurement for complex engineered-to-order (ETO) projects. You’ll take ownership of materials planning, scheduling, supplier engagement, and ERP-driven coordination across engineering, project management, and operations. Job Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for the project supply process to coordinate and align program related decisions to regional and global category strategies including coordinating all item setups on Company ERP systems and liaising with the Project Manager and Production Planning team to initiate PO placement and expediting processes. Liaises with Sales, Project Management, Operations, Quality, Product Management, Engineering, and other functions to understand product and market requirements and to ensure clear communications and alignment of supply plans for project execution. Demonstrates managerial courage and leadership to escalate program challenges promptly and find solutions with key stakeholders. Takes ownership of material and supply planning using ERP systems (Oracle preferred) to ensure timely delivery and supply continuity throughout the project lifecycle. Leverages a high level of project management skills for supply chain related to the sourcing, buying and planning activities required for ETO projects alongside supporting new product development, outsourcing, VA/VE, supplier resourcing, large cost out initiatives, supplier crisis management and acquisition integration. Serves as the Supply Chain champion and identifies and secures cross-functional stakeholders to execute assigned projects on time. Coordinates with key SCM global champions in Procurement, Category Management & Supplier Quality to deliver a flawless and comprehensive plan for supply and other tasks as required for assigned projects. Supports global cross-functional process to ensure appropriate data points and considerations are included in Make Buy decisions, total cost of ownership is clear, and long-term sustainability of supply chain. Establishes robust communication strategies to report on program status, communicates critical issues to external and internal customers, offers solutions, and implements corrective actions. Education and Experience BS in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering. MBA, CPM, CPIM, CSCP and / or PMP certification are both a plus Minimum 5 years of proven, progressive supply chain experience in manufacturing. Prior experience in custom manufacturing, engineer-to-order (ETO), or made-to-order (MTO) environments is essential. Familiarity with build-to-print processes and interpreting engineering data in a supply context will be valuable. Experience with large scale project management across multiple functional teams, operations life cycle, in depth analysis and problem solving. ERP/MRP Expertise - Strong hands-on experience with Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms. Ability to manage item master data, lead times, and project planning through ERP. Oracle highly preferred. Proficient with project management tools and methods to manage activities across supply chain and other functions. Preferred candidate will be a change agent and promote continued development of the evolving supply chain function. Working knowledge of manufacturing processes like machining, metal cutting, hydraulics, plastic injection molding, metal fabrication, electronics and assembly. Experience with low volume, high mix manufacturing processes is a plus.
