Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, Alexa Americas
Description The Alexa Americas team is looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to lead our business intelligence projects, including analyzing, and delivering actionable insights to drive customer engagement and satisfaction, while supporting the growth of our business. A successful candidate will be able to partner effectively with both business and technical teams, across a variety of global stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. They will be an expert in SQL/ETL and data manipulation, with a proven track record of connecting data insights to business impact. They will be able to present analytical results and insights to senior leadership, using multiple methods, including written summaries and visualization/reporting tools such as Tableau. The candidate will also have an eye for optimization and automation in reporting. Key job responsibilities • Interface with internal business customers to gather data and metrics requirements. • Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics and reporting to deliver key business insights to our country teams across the Americas. • Lead new and ambiguous business projects from start to finish with the ability to manage, analyze and communicate results to senior leadership • Respond to all business report requests from country teams, and create dashboards where possible, to automate responses. • Own and perform individual deep dive analyses on our customers, including communicating results and implications to business leaders • Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation, always insisting on the highest standards. • Mentor junior Business Intelligence Engineers. About the team The Alexa Americas team defines, delivers, and create Alexa experiences based on customer needs; including both consumer and enterprise customers. The team drives engagement, manages local content and Alexa's local personality, support device and feature launches and set priorities to improve quality for customers across device types (Echo, Fire TV, Alexa Built-in, and Mobile). Basic Qualifications - 10+ years of professional or military experience - 5+ years of SQL experience - Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets - Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results - Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills. - Experience building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions - Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
