Job Description:

Reporting to the Director, Strategic Initiatives, the Manager, Strategic Initiatives will play a critical role in the development, implementation and monitoring of new programs and strategic initiatives that support the overall growth and productivity of our advisory network. The focus of this role will be on growth initiatives and performance insights while proactively anticipating business needs and recommending new opportunities and/or enhancements.

What will you do?

Gather, review and analyze data to support business case development for proposed initiativesAssist in the development and evaluation of strategies including financial impactCollaborate and align with stakeholders to lead delivery of high-impact initiativesAccountable for project management and communication of proposed initiativesReport regularly on initiatives progress, identify emerging risks and recommend mitigationsDevelop presentations and other materials for senior leadership as requiredAccountable for management reporting required for leadership presentations, business results, and other ad-hoc requestsDefine, monitor and report OKRs, performance insights and recommendations to achieve strategic outcomesAssist in the annual budget planning process and monthly expense variance reporting and analysis functions.

Strong analytical skills - experience gathering, reviewing and analyzing data to inform business decisionsStrategic-mindset, ability to see the bigger picture while managing day-to-day business activityStrong business acumen and presentation skills - experience building business cases, developing presentations and other materialsStrong project & program management capabilities - experience working with stakeholders with the ability to manage a portfolio of initiativesExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong interpersonal and collaboration skills and ability to influence peers to achieve a desired resultSuperior organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectivelyAbility to work independently with a strong achievement motivationUnderstanding of Sun Life Canada’s business and objectives is an asset

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
