Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is a leading international law firm with more than 900 lawyers in offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. We are currently seeking a Senior Business Development Coordinator in our Marketing department, reporting directly to the Senior Business Development Manager.
The position can reside in the New York, Washington DC, or Dallas offices with hybrid work capabilities, and will be responsible for meeting the practice and business development needs of the investment Management and tax practices. The Senior Business Development Coordinator is expected to perform all responsibilities with a commitment to providing superior service to the firm’s attorneys, advisors and staff, and maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement. Above all, the Senior Business Development Coordinator must fulfill the needs of the firm in a manner which is consistent with the Firm’s Core Values.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
+ Assist with the preparation of marketing materials, proposals, RFP responses and client presentations.
+ Assist with the preparation and updating of practice and cross-initiative materials.
+ Manage activity and relationship tracking in the contact relationship management (CRM) database to enable external communication.
+ Assist with practice- and industry-related sponsorships, events and memberships to facilitate the development of the practices, including post-event following and tracking lead generation.
+ Assist with content marketing updates and execution, including web pages, client alerts, blog posts, presentations and other thought leadership (together with the communications team), and promote exposure of the practice and individual attorneys, as appropriate.
+ Manage production, dissemination and tracking of client alerts, newsletters and other external communications.
+ Assist with research initiatives to obtain business from new and existing clients.
+ Assist with the development and execution of marketing/business development strategies, plans and projects.
+ Assist in identifying and evaluating new business opportunities and targets, facilitating cross-selling initiatives.
+ Assist with the preparation of legal directories and other rankings and surveys.
+ Track and maintain experience updates.
+ Support Senior Business Development Manager with general administrative tasks including updating information on spreadsheets, submitting check requests and expense reports, etc.
+ Generally, facilitate internal communication among and between the practices.
Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
+ Bachelor’s degree required.
+ 4-6 years of related marketing experience, preferably in a law firm. Experience with investment funds practice preferred.
+ Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential; experience with Salesforce and Marketo preferred; video-conferencing technologies (Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong writing and editing skills and high attention to detail.

The anticipated base salary range for this position in Washington, DC is $80,000 to $105,000.
The anticipated base salary range for this position in New York is $90,000 to $110,000.
The actual salary offered will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, years of relevant experience, certifications or other professional licenses held, job-related knowledge and skills, business needs, and the location from which the work will be performed. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package, which may also include a full range of health and other insurance benefits, financial and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility), a discretionary bonus, and various paid time off benefits.
