**Work Schedule** Standard (Mon-Fri) **Environmental Conditions** Office **Job Description** **How will you make an impact?** As the Senior Business Analyst, you will help enable digital transformation and our journey toward digital science. You will lead and prioritize BI projects, coordinating the technical execution encompassing research, design, and implementation of data platforms, data pipelines, data models, reports/dashboards, and data-driven applications. **What will you do?** + Analyze current operational processes/procedures and find opportunities for improvement + Design and implement report and process automation requirements + Build dashboards collaborating with various financial applications and file systems, developing data models and interactive visualizations + Work in partnership with team and business partners to build and share knowledge, ensuring consistent delivery of information + Gather and document detailed requirements, including user needs, program functions, data integration, and system design. + Review computer system capabilities, workflows, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system + Study existing information processing systems to evaluate efficiency and develop new systems to improve production or workflows as required + Prepare workflow charts and diagrams to detail operations performed by equipment and computer programs. + Lead projects involving diverse hardware platforms, multiple programming languages, and development tools. + Upgrade systems, address errors, and maintain accuracy as part of the IT Software Life Cycle. + Align with company’s Global IT Policies & Procedures How will you get here? **Experience:** + 3+ years of related technical work experience with systems analysis and programming + Experience with agile development methodologies, tools, and team-based development **Technical Skills:** + Proficient in SQL and T-SQL for table construction, data normalization, complex query development, sub-queries, joins, and exception handling + Proficient in Power BI, including report development, semantic layer design, platform administration, and performance optimization + Strong knowledge in designing and implementing Stored Procedures, Views, and User-Defined Functions + Advanced knowledge of DAX + Experienced in data modeling and performance tuning + Familiar with version control systems (e.g., GitHub) and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins) + Understanding of architectural design patterns and cloud-based systems + Skills in logical analysis and quality assurance + Experience with Python and Databricks is desirable **Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:** + Good interpersonal and excellent documentation skills are a must + Able to assume and complete assignments independently + Excellent customer service skills required + Strong analytical and project management skills required, including a detailed understanding of how to interpret customer/business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements + Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group, executives, managers, and domain experts Thermo Fisher Scientific is an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability or any other legally protected status.
