The role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior System Analyst to play a pivotal role in the analysis, design, and implementation of our enterprise-level software systems. In this senior position, you will act as a critical liaison between our business stakeholders and our technical development teams. You will be responsible for translating complex business needs into detailed functional specifications, guiding projects through the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), and mentoring junior analysts.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with exceptional analytical skills, a deep understanding of system architecture, and a proven track record of leading complex system projects from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Analysis & Solution Design: Lead requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and interviews with business stakeholders to elicit and clearly define business needs. Perform in-depth analysis of existing systems, data, and business processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Translate business requirements into comprehensive and clear technical documentation, including functional specifications, user stories, process flows (BPMN), use cases, and data models. Design innovative and scalable system solutions that align with business goals and enterprise architecture standards. Project Leadership & Collaboration: Serve as the lead analyst on complex, high-impact projects, guiding the analysis workstream from initiation to deployment. Act as the primary bridge between business units, development teams, and QA teams to ensure a shared understanding of requirements and solution design. Collaborate with project managers to define project scope, estimate effort, and manage timelines for analysis-related deliverables. Mentor and provide guidance to junior system analysts, fostering their growth and ensuring adherence to best practices. Documentation & Governance: Create and maintain a repository of system documentation, ensuring it is kept current, organized, and accessible. Champion and enforce best practices for requirements analysis, documentation, and system design within the team. Contribute to the development of IT governance policies and standards. Testing & Implementation Support: Partner with QA teams to develop test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria to ensure solutions meet business requirements. Lead and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions, document feedback, and manage the resolution of identified issues. Provide expert support during system implementation, data migration, and post-launch stabilization phases.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field. 7+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in a dedicated System Analyst or Business System Analyst role. Proven experience leading the analysis phase of large-scale software development projects. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in both Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and Waterfall software development methodologies. Expertise in requirements elicitation and creating detailed technical documentation. Proficiency with diagramming and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Visio, Azure devops etc). Solid understanding of relational databases and proficiency in writing SQL queries for data analysis. Experience with API-driven architectures (REST, SOAP) and system integrations. Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Strong leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills. Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in a relevant field. Professional certification such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), PMI-PBA, or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO). Experience in the TIC sector. Familiarity with AWS and service-oriented architecture (SOA). Knowledge of Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN 2.0).
