Senior Building Engineer

Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and service-oriented Senior Building Engineer to oversee day-to-day facilities operations across a multi-floor corporate office in Midtown Manhattan. This role blends technical expertise with a hospitality mindset to ensure a seamless and welcoming workplace experience.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Facilities Oversight
Conduct morning walkthroughs to inspect restrooms, lighting, fire extinguishers, and water systems.
Monitor HVAC and UPS battery systems monthly.
Respond to service requests via Service Channel, assessing whether tasks require vendor support or can be handled in-house.
Manage small projects such as millwork installations, cable routing, and electrical upgrades.
Event & Office Support
Assist with event setup and breakdown, including furniture moves.
Support snack stocking and lunch coordination when needed.
Help assign seating and coordinate employee moves.
Escort vendors (e.g., exterminators, electricians) and partner on vendor management.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Perform light repairs (e.g., refrigerators, doors) and assess issues for escalation.
Collaborate with building engineers, plumbers, and HVAC contractors as needed.
Communication & Coordination
Partner with the office coordinator and facilities lead to ensure smooth operations.
Monitor shared facilities mailbox and respond to inquiries.
Support internal communications related to facilities updates.

Skills and Requirements
Proven experience in building operations or facilities engineering, ideally in a corporate or hospitality setting.
Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset.
Self-starter who thrives with minimal supervision and takes initiative.
General knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices. Familiarity with Service Channel or similar work order platforms. null
