DESCRIPTION

Senior Bridge Inspection Team Lead – $5K Sign-On Bonus: Michael Baker is seeking a dedicated Senior Bridge Inspection Team Lead to join our dynamic Nashville office. As a key member of our team, you will play an integral role in planning and conducting safety inspections of state and locally owned bridges, while preparing detailed inspection reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform and coordinate field inspections to assess bridge conditions. Document maintenance needs and accurately code inspections into the owner’s bridge management system (InspectX). Ensure timely submission of inspection documents and reports. Utilize tools such as ladders, under-bridge inspection vehicles, and other specialized equipment to inspect various types of bridges, including culverts, pre-stressed beam, cast-in-place concrete, steel girder, steel truss, and timber structures. REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications for an NBI-qualified, Routine Bridge Inspection Team Leader:

Professional Engineer in Tennessee, with NHI course #130055 ("Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges") and at least 1 year of NBIS bridge inspection experience. Five years of bridge inspection experience, along with successful completion of NHI course #130055. Bachelor's degree in engineering, Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam passed, two years of bridge inspection experience, and completion of NHI course #130055. Associate degree in engineering or engineering technology, four years of bridge inspection experience, and completion of NHI course #130055.

Additionally, candidates must:

Complete NHI course #130053 (“Bridge Inspection Refresher Training”) if course #130055 was taken more than five years ago. Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license. Exhibit strong leadership and communication skills (both oral and written). Have attention to detail and the ability to self-start. Be comfortable working outdoors in environments such as lane closures, ladders, boats, man-lifts, or under-bridge inspection vehicles. Be willing to travel across Tennessee for inspections (expenses reimbursed).

PREFFERED SKILLS

Completion of NHI course #130078 (“Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges”). Experience with bridge load ratings or design. Willingness to work temporarily as a TDOT embedded inspector for 90 days within TDOT regions.

COMPENSATION 

The approximate compensation range for this position is $89,900 to $129,793. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.  Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
