Eli Lilly and Company seeks a Senior Biologist (R2-R3) to conduct protein crystallization for X-ray crystallography structural analysis and sample preparation for Cryo-electron microscopy structure analysis. Troubleshoot experimental issues and visualize, summarize, and present results to team members. Apply a systematic and rigorous approach to scientific research and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Provide formal and informal mentorship and training to junior colleagues. #LI-DNI

Position requires a Master’s degree in Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry or a related field and 3 years of academic or employment experience with protein handling including dialysis, concentration, centrifugation. Academic or employment experience must include a minimum of: 1 year of experience working with microscopy and with operating robotic equipment handling micro qualities of proteins and related samples; 1 year of experience in conducting sample screening and designing follow up optimizations; 1 year of hands-on experience with crystal cryoprotection, crystal mounting, and crystal soaking; 1 year of experience with cryoEM technology including grids handling and preparation for negative staining and cryoEM experiments; and 1 year of experience with cryoEM data collection. Up to 5% domestic travel required. #LI-DNI

RATE OF PAY: $105,000.00 - $175,000.00

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$105,000.00 - $175,000.00

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
