Senior Backup & Recovery Engineer- Hybrid

Were seeking a Senior Backup & Recovery Engineer to join their Enterprise Backup & Recovery Engineering Team. In this role you will manage the Backup & Recovery Engineering activities. You will be the key focal SME to manage, operate, support the backup and recovery environment. In addition, providing guidance, coaching, & mentoring to the team members. Responsibilities: + Prepare project plans, provide estimates for project tasks, and assist with prioritization in relation to capacity planning and performance analytics. + Work on establishing the Enterprise backup and recovery strategy and way forward. + Design, deploy, and administer Backup and recovery infrastructures. + Analyze and specify technology opportunities and make system recommendations. + Participate in project team meetings to represent the Backup & recovery SMEs and provide input on project design and architectures + Make sure there is a smooth changeover from the old technology system to the new one + Provide guidance on Automation and Orchestration orchestrate wherever it is possible. + Work closely with relevant stake holders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the project(s). + Make sure that each stage of a deliverable is progressing on time and to the relevant quality/standards. + Determine requirements, develop specifications, architect a solution, and implement it in a timely manner. + Agree clear project scopes, objectives, deliverables, priorities, and timescales. + Keep abreast of all Data Protection & recovery technologies and corresponding complementing technologies. + Continually assist in updating roadmaps and future state documents. + Ensure project status reports to stakeholders are submitted by ensuring regular and accurate blogging and updates of projects and activities. + Ensure project deliverables are clearly defined, planned, prioritized & kept on track and within scope. + Act as a technical touch point for members of the team, offering guidance, coaching, mentoring and support. Qualifications: + 10+ years in large Enterprise backup & recovery Engineering Environment + Experienced in managing and operation backup environment running backup management software tools such Dell EMC Data protection Suite, (PPDM, Networker etc.), IBM TSM Spectrum/Storage Protect, Veeam, & Veritas Backup Exec. + The ability to cooperate in a team environment is critical + An ability to think outside of the box with a long-term view, when recommending solutions. + Organizational skills are required to ensure compliance with corporate standards. + Supports recovery efforts in the event of systems failure, disaster and cyber ransomware attacks. + Candidates must have the ability to motivate and lead others in a positive manner and ensure the groups work gets done in a timely fashion. + Strong research initiative, a self-starter at locating relevant documentation, support and process assistance + Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact and communicate with a variety of individuals at all levels is required. + The ability to influence others in a politically correct manner, so that objectives are met, is required. + Must possess a solid understanding of software and/or hardware systems used in assigned area. + Bachelors degree or equivalent experience Preferred Qualifications: + Preferred Enterprise production hosting and operational experience with the following platforms: + Experienced in and clear understanding of daily backups, monthly, long-term backup retentions, Airgap and Immutability options for cyber ransomware protection. + Experienced in automation of data protection and data recovery process. + Backup Replication technologies. + Should have experience and very good understanding of backup and recovery/restore methodologies. + Clear understanding of data recovery time (RTO) & point objectives (RPO). + Should be able to generate and automate the reports for error handling and executive overview. + Experienced, and solid understanding of Dell EMC Data domain, Quantum Backup Storage devices, VTLs and IBM Tape libraries, Dell EMC fiber channel storage and NAS storage systems deployment, configuration, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting + Experience in Dell EMC Data domain deployment, configuration, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting is required. + Should be able to analyze the application/DB requirement to map it with backup software tools and technologies. + Experience in Cloud Based backup and recovery Technologies are desired. + Experience in Cyber ransomware data protection and recovery are desired. + Flexibility to travel if needed + Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and on weekend rotational calls. + Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position Compensation Range: The salary range for this position is between $130,000 - $140,000. Broadridge considers various factors when evaluating a candidate's final salary including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
