Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join our team and help build the next generation platform for DXC. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Lead Architect, other senior development leaders, and front-end teams to design and implement robust, scalable backend services that power our innovative platform.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend code and servicesCreate well-documented and tested REST APIs and GraphQL endpointsEstablish and enforce coding standards, test coverage requirements, and architectural best practicesDevelop comprehensive documentation for APIs, services, and architectural decisionsImplement secure coding practices and ensure the platform meets security requirementsDesign and build integrations with external systems and third-party servicesMentor junior developers to elevate their output quality and ensure their work meets established requirementsContinuously improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of our backend systemsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features

Required Qualifications

8+ years of experience in backend developmentStrong proficiency in Python and related frameworks (FastAPI, Pydantic, etc.)Experience designing and building RESTful APIs with documentation and testingExperience with GraphQL implementation on the server sideStrong understanding of database design, optimization, and ORM technologiesExperience integrating with external systems and third-party servicesKnowledge of security best practices and secure coding standardsExperience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure)Experience creating and maintaining technical documentationExcellent collaboration and communication skillsProven experience mentoring junior developersBachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScriptExperience working with AI technologies and agentic workflowsExperience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesExperience with microservices architectureUnderstanding of serverless computingExperience with message queues and event-driven architecturesKnowledge of monitoring and observability toolsExperience building AI agents a plus

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $131,300 - $243,800.
