ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB is seeking a Senior Aviation Environmental Planner with proven experience in airport projects to join our Aviation team!

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented, collaborative, and innovative problem-solver with a passion for the aviation industry and airports who wants to build a dynamic career in Aviation and Environmental Planning with a nationally recognized company. This position allows for professional growth and leadership through challenging and rewarding projects for a variety of aviation-related clients and services.

 

Responsibilities

Project management for complex airport planning studiesResearch, analysis, and creation of airport environmental and planning documents including but limited to: NEPA environmental fillingsSAF and sustainable fuels Airport electrificationSustainability, resiliency, and climate change Noise and air quality analysesAdvanced Air Mobility (AAM) and eVTOL Assist the Corporate Aviation Market Leader and Regional Managers with business development and provide technical expertiseImprove client relationships and promote company visibilityPerform project reviews and quality control audits for deliverablesSupervise and mentor team members with minimal supervision

Skills & Knowledge

Five or more years of experience in Project Management and contracting (scope and fee development) for aviation projectsExperience with monitoring scope, schedule, and budget for contractsAbility to coordinate with other VHB service lines to position for projects at key airports to grow the practice and increase revenueExperience working with FAA and State/local agencies (DOTs, DEQs)AAAE CM, or other aviation related certifications preferredDemonstrable experience with business development and proposal writing Ability to deliver technical innovation and bring extraordinary value to our aviation clientsActive in the Aviation industry by being a thought leader and involved in service organizationsActively participate in developing aviation business opportunities throughout the corporate footprintExperience mentoring aviation planning and environmental staff

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or related field from an accredited college or universityMaster’s degree preferred11+ years of experience in Aviation Planning and Environmental projects (environmental assessments, AEDT modeling, environmental permitting)Professional Planning Certification preferred Supervisory experience preferred

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Washington DC is $125, 000.00 to $175,000.00. This offer is determined based on a number of job-related factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities and geographic location.
