Senior Associate - Transmission setup

The Transmission Setup Team has an immediate and exciting opportunity for a Transmission Consultant. The candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, documenting, and resolving technical and functional Data transmission problems. Additional responsibilities include addressing long-term issues, tracking and escalating problems, teaming up with application, divisional and operations groups to resolve and prevent potential service interruptions, and coordinating, testing, and installing transmission jobs and processes along with designing and coding processes based on client and/or partner defined requirements.

 Responsibilities:

Knowledge/Skills - 2+ years of experience with Job Control Language (JCL)Experience with UNIX is a plus.  Candidate must be able to work independently, learn "on the job", and manage workload in a fast paced environment.  The position also requires business partner and client interaction which demands strong communication and interpersonal skills. 2+ Years experience with communication and encryption software such as PGP, Connect:Direct,  Axway  Managed File Transfer applications such as B2Bi or Secure Transport, or any other vended Managed File Transfer application. 1+ Years experience with communication/transmission protocols is also a plus.3 Years Experience in production support where candidate is also required to provide second /third level support during working and off hours.Detailed experience in systems analysis and designStrong technical skills on mainframeStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to maintain existing programs to meet changing business needs and requirementsAbility to develop and maintain programs (design, write specs, code, test, debug)Ability to learn "on-the-job"Detail orientedAbility to document processes and proceduresAbility to work independently and effectively with a minimum amount of directionAbility to work well within a team atmosphereExposure to and willingness to provide production firecall supportWillingness and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to create an organized project plan

Major Duties:

 1. Manage assigned requests to meet partner and client Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)

2. Maintain and update existing programs to meet client and/or partner requirements

3. Develop new programs based on client and/or partner requirements

4. Provide 2nd/3rd level production support during business hours and off hours

Qualifications:

6+ years of overall experienceStay up to date with Industry trendsA College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is preferred.  The ideal candidate should have a solid technical background developing on the mainframe environment, with proven experience in Job Control Language (JCL). The position requires strong analytical and problem solving skills, in addition to the necessary logic skills required to develop and maintain JCL programs. The individual will be responsible for analysis, development, testing, and production support of transmission related projects. Projects vary in scope and duration.
