Your Role:
As a Senior Associate Scientist, you will support assay development by leveraging innovative service offerings in the biosafety testing field, particularly focusing on BSL-3 requirements, intensive hands on laboratory work, automation, and digitalization. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of all technical work performed in the laboratory. This includes making observations, keeping detailed workbooks and documentation, and ensuring that all records adhere to accepted professional and industry standards. A comprehensive understanding of the company’s testing services, along with the relevant technical principles and applications, is essential for this position. Additionally, you must complete the necessary training to gain access to and work in the BSL-3 laboratory.

 

Scope of Responsibility:
 

Planning and executing experimental designs using a Design of Experiments (DoE) approachMaintaining adherent and suspension cell lines, and producing viruses at both bench and pilot scalesEnsure good documentation practices and perform general lab maintenance tasksCollaboration with laboratory management and support staff will be crucial to meet or exceed both internal and external expectationsDevelop and conduct custom and routine testing in compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulations, including current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)Utilize a combination of intensive laboratory work in BSL-2 and BSL-3 environments, generating and presenting reports at internal meetings, and organizing documentationOperate within a matrix environment as part of a dynamic team, managing multiple projects simultaneously

 

Who You Are:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Master’s degree in a scientific discipline (i.e. Biology, Chemistry, etc.) with 4+ years laboratory experienceBachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (i.e. Biology, Chemistry, etc.) with 6+ years laboratory experienceHigh school diploma or GED with 8+ years’ experience with aseptic technique and mammalian cell culture experience

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

4+ years’ experience with aseptic technique and mammalian cell culture experienceAbility to work well independently and in a team environmentMulti-tasker who can handle multiple high-complexity projects at one timeProficient in the use of basic and advanced laboratory techniques, equipment and materialsIntermediate to advanced skills in applicable computer programsExcellent time management skills and ability to work under minimal supervisionBroad working knowledge of lab policies and biological assays

 

Pay Range for this position - $26/hr - $50/hr

Our ranges are derived from several sources, and largely reliant on relevant industry market data.
