Organization Overview:
The Associate, LRL (Lilly Research Labs) Learning Design Strategist role supports the implementation, of strategic learning initiatives across LRL (Lilly Research Labs) by designing, development and maintain high-quality learning content. Reporting to the Learning Design Strategy Lead, this role is critical in shaping engaging and effective learning experiences that support global LRL business goals, ensure compliance and enhance employee capabilities. The role partners with functional business leaders, Lilly suppliers, and global L&D colleagues to create performance-based solutions that leverage modern instructional design methodologies.
Primary Responsibilities:
Learning Design and Performance Consulting
Proactively partner with business functions to determine learning needs and define learning strategies that improve employee performance and business outcomes
Collaborate with Account Managers, Learning Leads, Business Partners, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to build recommendations and define training solutions
Serve as the point of contact for learning solution requests and initiate discovery meetings / performance consulting sessions with business partners.
Support content planning, timeline estimation, and progress tracking as part of the broader learning project portfolio within the learning solutions tracker
Design and develop high-impact learning solutions with modern instructional methodologies
Translate learning strategies into scalable learning content, using eLearning, instructor-led training, job aids, and other modalities
Manage cross-functional learning initiatives to ensure alignment, consistency and effectiveness
Apply effective project management to ensure timely delivery of the learning solution
Leverage modern technology tools to support development of learning and performance solutions (e.g., course development tools, video technology, automation, etc.)
Ensure content meets quality, branding, accessibility (WCAG AA), and regulatory standards’
Strategic Business Partnership
Build and leverage relationships with LRL business partners
Influence strategic learning solutions to support business objectives
Anticipate and resolve complex challenges in partnership with L&D and business stakeholders
Scope and prioritize strategic and special projects in collaboration with L&D leadership
Support implementation of learning strategies and communications as part of broader LRL L&D efforts
Assist in the implementation of new learning technologies for LRL L&D and business partners
Assist with audit and inspection readiness as needed
Technology and Innovation
Utilize instructional design tools and platforms such as Articulate 360, Vyond, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud, and similar tools
Stay informed of new technologies and trends in learning and development to bring innovative ideas to the team
Support the implementation of data dashboards, automation, and AI tools that enhance learning solution delivery
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and learning operations enhancements within LRL L&D
Evaluation and Quality
Develop appropriate evaluation plans for learning and performance solutions leveraging the Six Disciplines of Breakthrough Learning or similar frameworks to measure learning impact
Assist in the measurement of engagement and behavior change through assessments and business impact data
Monitor and adjust learning content based on evaluation data and evolving business needs
Coaching and Personal Development
Establish a network of internal and external learning and business professionals and benchmark as appropriate
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, instructional design, performance technology, or related programs
2+ years of experience in proactive strategic learning, performance consulting, instructional design, content development or program/portfolio management
Other Information/Additional Preferences:
Proficient in eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Rise, Adobe Captivate), video editing tools, and LMS platforms
M.S. degree in Instructional Systems Technology, Adult Learning or related experience/education
Proven ability to design instructional content for diverse delivery methods (eLearning, virtual instructor-led, job aids, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and collaborate across functions
Demonstrated ability working on high performing learning and development teams, partnering with the business and determining training needs for the organization
Ability to drive improvement and develop learning strategy
Growth mindset to drive innovation within LRL L&D and elevate team performance
Certifications in the Six Disciplines of Breakthrough Learning, Human Performance Improvement, Performance Consulting or Instructional Design
Experience that demonstrates technical skills using/creating/trouble shooting applications/platforms including HTML, eLearning, video, virtual, SharePoint, JavaScript, etc.
Experience leading the implementation of learning technology, automation and data dashboard projects
Experience in developing SCORM, xAPI enabled courses
Knowledge of WCAG requirements for building accessible content
Experience using AI solutions to optimize learning content development
Ability to provide recommendations that may challenge business leadership regarding ways to use learning interventions to meet business requirements most effectively
Working knowledge of and/or experience in a regulated environment
Ability to effectively partner with employees and leaders globally
Demonstrated ability in communication, conflict resolution, using good judgment, and managing complexity
Effective problem-solving skills to evaluate and resolve challenges or problems that may arise

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$57,750 - $129,800Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
