Role Definition
As HEX vehicle layout engineer, you will partner with and provide technical guidance to technical teams and coach team members, you will direct and contribute to the layout ,integration, concept, development, and design of systems and configuration, you will contribute to the planning and delivery of projects to ensure products provide superior customer value in comparison to the competition in terms of layout ,features, performance, durability, and quality, with considerations of cost, manufacturing, velocity, and serviceability.
What You Will Do
Creating mechanical systems and components designs from concept to series solutions. Understand cost structure, drive towards minimizing product cost
Creating high-quality 3D models and 2D drawings according to the design concept.
Responsible for machine configuration work and support design on machine layout. Support vehicle leaders and coordinate components design engineers to complete new products development
Collaboration with components design teams (HYD, EIC, E&E, structure etc.) and other support teams (VPD, DCR, HEME, PC&S etc.) to improve the design and ensure proper design function
Resolving issues regarding the manufacturing or building sequences. Ensuring design acceptance and manufacturing readiness.
Regular maintenance work of vehicle level drawings, machine layout models and technical documents, etc.
What You Have
Knowledge of processes, techniques and methods of engineering in a manufacturing environment; ability to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective or invention.
Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
The ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Top candidates may have:
Strong knowledge of CREO or other design software for modeling and detailing
Good knowledge of Teamcenter and other PLM systems
Familiar with related GB and ISO standards of earth-moving machinery
Familiar with manufacturing process and structure assembly
Excellent written & oral communication skills in English
Strong communication skills to coordinate multiple teams
3 years and above engineering experience for engineering machinery design, Excavator related design experience
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related
Travel: Flexibility travel may be required (<10%)
This position requires working onsite five days a week.
