ROLE SUMMARY
The position is a member of one or more “Work Area” Process Centric Team(s) (PCT), responsible for driving effective execution and sustaining of the Integrated Manufacturing Excellence (IMEx) continuous improvement (CI) processes. As part of a site centralized CI support team, within Operational Excellence, you will provide focused CI support to one or more PCTs while flexing to support other key functional areas to meet business needs. Primary responsibilities include identification, prioritization, management and execution of CI opportunities to improve the overall operational effectiveness of the PCT, reduce sources of loss, and meet improvement targets. Analyze data to drive root cause analyses and to prioritize improvements. Support the creation of PCT goals in alignment with the site’s CI Goals and the Pfizer Purpose Blueprint. The CI Specialist will provide coaching and leadership to projects ranging from basic issues to problems that are moderately-complex and cross-functional in nature. This role is a key enabler to the successful deployment and sustainability of IMEx within the work center(s).
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive effective execution and sustaining support of the IMEx continuous improvement (CI) process at the PCT (Tier 1) & department level (Tier 2). Including the process of identification, management, and execution of CI projects.
Facilitate CI Loop meetings and project prioritization and escalation. Attend daily Tier 1 meetings, and facilitate real-time structured problem solving. Participate and/or facilitate Tier 2 CI meeting.
Input and analyze data from IMEx elements and other work units to identify areas for improvement and largest sources of loss, including collaboration with CI Specialists across ecosystems. Collaborate with other PCT members and Element Owners on identifying continuous improvement opportunities. Utilize data to influence project prioritization.
Track and report value capture.
Lead moderately-complex and cross-functional operational excellence initiatives. Mentor more junior staff on decision making.
Coach and develop operational excellence skills of PCT members and drive a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Coach PCT on the CI Loop visual management principles and the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) process.
Articulate CI work performed and connections to department and site goals.
Support the CI element through engagement and gemba with Element Owners & other CI Specialists.
Work with the PCT Lead through a dotted line reporting structure, Tier 1 & 2 Element Owners, Operational Excellence and Area Leadership to build, maintain and improve processes within the work area.
Have a strong understanding of the principles of the discipline and apply these skills and departmental knowledge to achieve assigned work
Work under general supervision using own judgment where needed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of experience; OR a master's degree with 0+ years of experience;
OR an associate's degree with 6 years of experience; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 8 years of relevant experience
Experienced in using root cause analysis methods.
Capability in LEAN tools and/or desire to grow LEAN capabilities to further drive CI on site
Demonstrated skills in data analysis and team facilitation.
Able to coach others on using structured problem-solving techniques.
Able to balance multiple priorities.
Self-motivated and able to develop work relationships in cross-functional teams.
Able to explain difficult issues and work to establish consensus.
Effective communications with different levels of the organization through project execution.
The successful candidate will be a change agent who is dedicated to driving cultural and technical changes through their work.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Six Sigma Yellow Belt and/or Green Belt Certification
Lean Tool experience or Lean Yellow/Green Belt
Experienced with statistical software applications
Project management experience
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Individual would primarily interact with the Pfizer Andover departments, Network forums related to areas of responsibility
SOM: Assisting in categorizing and prioritizing projects. Lead the projects assigned and participate in program development. Problem solving work.
Project Team Members: Coordinate and involve members from various departments and disciplines to deliver program/project that meets performance requirements. Ensure change management is addressed to ensure long term control of results.
Team or Program Sponsors: Alignment on project and program deliverables.
Andover Site Colleagues: M1 coaching, M2/M3/M4 project leadership and support as needed.
Other site CI Specialists: Identifies and collaborates on functional losses and CI opportunities.
vPCT Lead and PCT Members: Alignment on project prioritization and program deliverables. Alignment of CI goals with tiers above.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $80,300.00 to $133,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 10.0% of the base salary.
