Senior Associate, Federal Tax Advisory

As a Senior Associate in our Federal Tax Advisory practice, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality tax compliance, ASC 740 income tax accounting, and advisory services to a diverse client base, varying from multi-national corporations to early-stage start-ups. You will oversee complex tax return preparation, support income tax provision engagements, provide mentorship to junior staff, and collaborate with senior team members to address client needs. This position offers opportunities to enhance technical expertise and develop leadership skills in a supportive and growth-focused environment.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client onboarding: client prior year data review and analysis, PBC requests, and budgeting

Review and prepare complex federal, state, and local tax returns for corporations and partnerships.

Preferred if can prepare and review ASC 740 tax provisions.

Collaborate with engagement team to identify and research complex client issues and recommend solutions.

Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information and provide timely updates on project progress. 

Draft technical tax memoranda and analysis reports.

Assist in project management of compliance and consulting engagements.

Quality control on work-product delivery by self & team.

Documenting procedures for all types of work.

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy in tax preparation and tax accounting processes.

Supervise, train and mentor junior staff, associates and interns.

Provide feedback on team members to their manager.

Identify knowledge gaps in the team and address the same.

Receive formal corporate tax training, on the job training, direct feedback from top tax leaders, and the opportunity to pursue additional training through internal and external resources.

REQUIREMENTS:

6 - 8 years of corporate and partnership income tax compliance experience

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Business or related field

Exposure and hands-on experience on the whole cycle of income tax compliance (PBC Request / Data Review / Workpapers / Return Preparation / Review / Delivery)

Proficient use of excel and technologies (OneSource Income Tax experience is a plus)

Ability to communicate and interact effectively with co-workers and clients

Ability to collaborate with leads and other team members

Demonstrate the ability to obtain technical expertise in the managed field

Ability to solve problems and make educated decisions

Prior experience in handling a team and delivering formal feedback
