As a Senior Associate supporting Automation & Control Engineering, you will be trusted to render technical support on control systems for Alcon manufacturing systems for continuous improvement, control development projects and to ensure production equipment achieve minimum downtime at Johor, Malaysia. In this role, a typical day will include:

Plan and direct technical support of automated equipment controls for production equipment.

Executes the appropriate change control documentation to assure the control systems are in a state of control and compliance.

Gather requirements, create technical specification, and the design and development of complex automation and control projects

Contribute to software architecture design, development of software applications, and integration into enterprise systems when required.

Develop and implement system support process and documentation.

Configure control software introduction and subsequent roll-out to current (if change is required) and future production lines.

Assist in the preparation and implementation of the long-term automation and control support strategy.

Develop and validate software test plans and automated systems.

Maintain multiple environments i.e. Development, QA, Production for control software where applicable.

Managing and working with third party automation and control development teams.

Adherence to Alcon values & standards, observe and ensure full compliance with Alcon Code of Business Conducts.

Observe and ensure full compliance with Alcon Health Safety and Environment Standards and other requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

8 years of experience for Diploma holders

5 years of experience for Degree holders

Advantageous to have developed/implemented/maintained/lead plant wide automation and controls projects, as well as having a strong understanding of SCADA (Alan Bradley) and with experience in integrating these systems with MES/ERP and/or equipment controls. (Medium proficiency)

Experience in industrial automation and control (PLC, HMI) and/or robotics and any factory information systems (FIS, MES). (Medium proficiency)
