Senior Architect
Philips
+ 15+ years of hands-on software development experience, with 3-5 years in a senior/principal architect role.
+ Expertise in either or both **C# .NET and Java.** Preferably both technologies. Must: Flexibility and the ability to pick up and switch between either of these technologies.
+ Experience in backend development i.e. architecture design patterns, infrastructure, networking, availability, reliability, etc.
+ Experience in Architecting Cloud solutions using **AWS.** Experience in other cloud technologies like Azure and GCP will be an added advantage.
+ Experience & firm knowledge of software design concepts and design patterns.
+ Experience in the system design and implementation of complex, multi-generation, SW products. **Highly preferred** : Experience in Healthcare products and solutions.
+ Experience with Agile methodology, Tools, and Practices.
+ Strong abstraction, analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Working with multisite teams, Quality-conscious and process-oriented.
+ Excellent communication and collaborative skills with an ability to interact with Partners and geographically distributed teams.
+ A recognized bachelor or higher degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or related majors. 10 years + experience in similar technical leader and architect positions.
+ Stakeholder management: the ability to communicate vision and need and create buy-in.
+ Ability to discover customers' unmet/untold needs and turn them into technical backlogs and roadmaps.
+ Ability to shape direction as a change agent and deal with uncertainties.
+ Ability to discover and gather market opportunities, technical trends, and customer requirements and deliver innovative solutions, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to optimize cloud resources for performance and cost efficiency.
+ Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools in a cloud environment.
**Technical Leadership & Problem Solving**
+ Independently identify, analyze, and resolve architectural challenges using advanced data-driven problem-solving techniques.
+ Exercise independent judgment in the selection of technologies, tools, and methods to achieve desired outcomes.
+ Guide architectural decisions with a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure (microservices, containers, serverless, message queues) and modern software development paradigms.
**Mentorship & Team Development**
+ Mentor and coach junior architects and engineers, fostering growth in solution design and cloud architecture competencies.
+ Serve as a role model and advocate for architectural excellence and engineering rigor.
**Risk & Compliance Management**
+ Identify engagement risks and evaluate third-party components using standardized risk assessment methodologies.
+ Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., IEC 62304, HIPAA, GDPR) and support documentation for FDA or other regulatory submissions.
**Key Job expectation:** Improve productivity / reduce release cycle time through effective use of AI.
As part of our modern engineering culture, we are actively leveraging AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, OpenAI Codex, and similar platforms to augment our software engineering workflows. We expect all candidates to be adept in using these tools to enhance productivity, improve code quality, and collaborate effectively.
This includes:
+ Using AI tools for code generation, refactoring, and documentation.
+ Understanding prompts and model behavior for high-accuracy suggestions.
+ Applying AI in debugging, test case creation, and code reviews.
+ Familiarity with productivity enhancements and limitations of AI tooling.
+ This capability is mandatory for all engineering roles on the team.
**How we work together**
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
