Senior Applications Engineer

A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Senior Applications Engineer, to drive the growth of MKS in Japan. In this pivotal role, you will lead technical communications between our valued customers and MKS Business Units, and collaborate closely with our sales team to uncover and execute on new business opportunities. By leveraging MKS’s industry-leading product portfolio, global reach, and technical expertise, you will be instrumental in our continued success and growth strategy in Japan.

You Will Make an Impact By:

Fosters strong customer relationships and satisfaction by delivering expert technical support through all stages of development and post-sale product support.Understands customer roadmaps and technical challenges, and leverages knowledge of physical principles to document and communicate customer requirements to MKS Business Units.Proactively seeks and finds new business opportunities and works closely with the Sales team and MKS Business Units to execute on customer requirements to win the business.Responsible for timely and clear communication between the customer and MKS Business Units when addressing technical or quality topics.Gathers competitive insights and works with technical experts in the MKS Business Units to clearly articulate MKS’s value proposition/position relative to the competition.Qualifies sales opportunities in terms of customer technical requirements, timelines, competitive landscape, and MKS’s value proposition.Regularly visits customers to prospect for new business, follow up on development project, and provide support for technical issues.Works with technical experts at MKS Business Units to write technical documents and presentations to support customer activities.Manages and drives timelines and action items in Japan and with the MKS Business Units to ensure customer needs are met consistently.


Skills You Bring:

5 to 10 years technical experience in the Semiconductor market.Physics, electrical engineering, or similar engineering background preferred.Experience in product development, process development, electrical/mechanical/manufacturing engineering or similar technical experience.Experience working with Semiconductor Process Equipment manufacturer preferred.Experience working with complex electronic devices such as RF generators, plasma sources, etc. preferred.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to intuitively relate to new and different cultural and operational styles.Solid commitment to customer service, internally and externally.Fluent Japanese and Business English level required.
