Aktiia is a venture-backed startup that has developed and brought the world’s first continuous blood pressure monitor to market. Their technology is based on 15 years of research by our founders at the prestigious Swiss research institution, CSEM. Aktiia's solution has been validated through extensive clinical trials and received the CE Mark as a Class IIa medical device giving them access to 43 countries worldwide. To support their accelerating revenue growth and ambitious product roadmap, Aktiia is seeking a Senior Android Developer to join their team.  If you are a top performer looking for an exciting, fun environment and are motivated by a mission, join them and help change how hypertension is measured and managed for almost a billion people worldwide.    What You’ll Be Doing: + Design & Build World-Class Mobile Experiences + Architect, implement, and deliver robust Android features that power our medically certified platform. + Champion clean, maintainable, and testable code that meets both user and regulatory requirements. + Write comprehensive unit, functional, and automation tests; verify implementations against detailed test cases. + Own the Mobile Development Lifecycle + Take end-to-end ownership of Android features—from concept to release—writing structured, efficient, and well-documented code. + Collaborate with engineering leads to shape architectural decisions, ensuring scalability and maintainability of the app. + Contribute to specifications and documentation required for medical device software compliance. + Deliver Impact with Quality and Speed + Contribute to sprint planning, provide accurate effort estimates, and help prioritize features with user value in mind. + Participate in peer code reviews, mentor peers, and uphold high engineering standards. + Plan and support regular app releases to the Google Play Store (and coordinate with iOS colleagues for cross-platform alignment). + Work Cross-Functionally + Partner with product managers, QA engineers, firmware engineers, and designers to build cohesive mobile experiences. + Translate product requirements into secure, high-performing Android solutions that improve health outcomes for users worldwide. + Ensure smooth integration with Bluetooth devices and hardware sensors, applying best practices in communication protocols. Required Competences & Education: + 10+ years of professional experience in Android development. + Strong knowledge of Bluetooth communication and device integration. + Experience with OpenCV, NDK, and Camera APIs. + Solid understanding of software design patterns, algorithms, and data structures. + Hands-on experience with Git and distributed version control workflows. + Background in software testing, automation, and writing specifications/documentation. + Familiarity with regulated environments (experience in medical device software is a big plus). + Strong analytical skills, structured approach to work, and resilience in fast-paced environments. + Fluent in English (French or other European languages are a plus). + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
